After retaining Mr. Stemp’s services for a portion of an action, I have this advice for choosing a lawyer:
1. DO NOT retain a lawyer unless they provide you, up front, with a retainer agreement AND statement of their hourly rate. There is no reason for an ethical lawyer to fail to do so.
2. DO NOT continue to work with a lawyer who does not volunteer timely reporting on their billing, such as monthly.
3. DO NOT use a lawyer whose advertising claims they “specialize” in a large number of areas of law. Probably no competent lawyer is spread that thin, and it is a contradiction in terms.
4. Read and heed online reviews.

Scum. He charged to be the middle man and got other IP lawyers to do all the work. It was disgusting. He was useless, and just saw a paycheque, and engaged in litigation he had NO IDEA of what the hell he was doing, and he didn't care, and I was too busy at the time to realize. SHAME ON YOU STEMP. YOUR FAMILY NAME IS TARNISHED FOREVER THANKS TO YOU. You are disgusting.

This lawyer was disorganized and if he does have knowledge he is too busy trying to make money to care. He will let you matter slip through the cracks. Would never use him again!
