Shawan along with her assistant Deanna was my legal team for my family law matter. I found Shawan's approach to be very strategic in handling my case. I provided Shawan clear instructions of the outcome I wanted to achieve and she delivered despite the unreasonable attitude of the opposing party. Shawan's experience was evident as she could often predict the next steps the opposing party may take and plan accordingly.
I found her a strong advocate for my case both inside and outside the court. What I truly appreciated was Shawan was available outside office hours via email and often instantly replied to emails on pressing matters irrespective of the time of day or night.

As of February 1, 2025, I have been with Shawan for over 2 years and she had dilligently worked on my case. She had taken a leave for 3 months but came back and jumped right into my case again. And just this month of January, she and her staff have worked tiredlessly on my case both day and night to get me closer to a resolution. Her patience and expertise were so appreciative in understanding the legal system. She answered all my questions and concerns and made me feel at ease knowing that she would fight for my cause. I came to Ms. Das with a file that was very acrimonious, i had self represented myself for over a year prior and It was becoming very difficult for myself to continue. Upon retaining Shawan positive progress had been started on my file. The other side started agreeing to things they had previously refused and the light at the end started growing brighter and gave me hope. The knowledge Ms. Das has is extremely helpful, she communicates clearly and effectively at all hours, her tenacity to get the job done even through all hours of the night shows the quality of work she is committed to, this brings amazing value to someone who represents me and my needs to pursue the endeavor that family court is. SPENT OVER 140000.00 AND GOT NITHING BUT ROBBED FROM THIS LAW FIRM. shes uneducated, unknowgable and a complete mess of false advertising. She wanted to do a 20 day trial and that also would have cost me ANOTHER 20000.00 grand . The opposing side had. O law experience whatso ever . AND WON. I feel sick and robbed . The end .

Mrs. Das took over my file and advised me after hearing my story that mediation and settlement would be her recommendation. I now know that if the other side disagrees and would like to see, see and see more of what you really have or what they think you have it may take some time and money to get there. Along the way we clashed over direction and time lines, but in the end we mediated and i did not end up bankrupt...considering the log jam that family courts have and I am sure most law offices also, communication was prompt, her court demeanour professional and knowledgeable. Shawan was able to get through to me that taking the “hi road” would serve me best and it did..thanks Shawan.

This lawyer robs you of your money. I paid her thousands and ended losing my case,. She does not know law at all , Brought me to court to get nothing heard and after I paid thousands, she got me to do a 350 page affidavit. Cost me 5000.00 for crap. She, gave me advice in family court which almost put me in jail!! Lost my home , job and dignity ! Got nothing from her , she should lose her lawyer licences ASAP !!
Her wording in the paper work made no sense. Even the judge was confused and annoyed with her.

The other ratings are fake. Shawan lies in court. Brings the wrong order and doesn't know what to say. She stutters infront when she's caught lying . I lost my court case and time with my children because of her lack of knowledge. Wore so much perfume to cover the curry smell . Her typing and emails are so unreadable .She pretends to walk the walk . But doesn't talk the talk . I suggest getting someone with experience with family law. Her law firm is horrible.

This lawyers license should be revoked. She does not practice ethical law. Quotes incorrect literature, recommends psychologists that have bad ratings etc..
