Lawyers are bound by rules of confidentiality that do no allow them to respond to skewed versions of events by those for whom no kindness or generosity and no level of excellent "lawyering" is enough - the type of high conflict person about whom the old saying "no good deed goes unpunished" was created.

Rita Richardson is the master of excuses. After over fifty written requests and numerous verbal requests, Rita refused to bill me for seven years. Then, she was prepared to offer a discount if I paid within a three week time frame. Because I could not pay $35,000.00 in this time frame., she is now insisting I owe her $70,000.00. Only hire her if you want delay after delay after delay. She then terminated me as a client, recommending I hire a different lawyer with whom she has been speaking unbeknownst to me! I could go on and on, however I think you ‘get the picture’… avoid this one.

EXCELLENT, EXELLENT, EXCELLENT!! I've read the reviews on here and can only assume these peeps have zero understanding of how difficult it is to deal with and get ANY answersa from Plan Administrators. They are the reason for delays. I had tried to deal with my PA on my own and I had no response for an entire year! Rita's knowledge, professionalism and quality of work is outstanding. Pension Orders are absolutely vital and they need to be right!! While I would trust my family law matters with a number of Family Lawyers that I know, Rita is the only one I would trust with my Pension. Money well spent.

My case was a complicated pension matter stretching over 3 Canadian provinces. Pension law with just one province is challenging enough but when there’s 3 provinces involved, then that becomes a whole different animal. I was referred to Richardson Law based on its’ pension law expertise and soon met Ms. Richardson to discuss the complexity of my case and retained her services. Ms. Richardson’s attention to details and extensive knowledge of all provincial laws pertaining to pensions was impressive. I appreciated her professional mannerism, the analytical approach and strategic planning methodology while working on my case. Her due diligence was definitely advantageous as doing so left no room for error or gaps. I have a great deal of respect for Ms. Richardson’s respectful demeanour with all parties concerned and very pleased with the outcome of my case. Ms. Richardson is unlike others…she is in fact her own true self and authentically driven with her client’s best interest in mind.

Rita is hugely dedicated to her work. She really cares about her clients and goes out of her way to take time to explain really complicated problems. She is so knowledgeable and caring. I know that her legal advice is spot on and I trusted that she would get me a really good result and she did. Rita is the best.

She takes forever to get things done...months go by without a reply or explanation. Does not answer phone calls or messages until weeks later. Do not recommend if you want something done in a timely manner.

Rita handled a complicated division of my USA-based 401k account (as ordered by my divorce judgment), but because I had divorced in Alberta, it was a HUGE deal with getting it done across the border. Rita worked with an American colleague and strategized a novel legal route to get the job done. First try and it was successful. I found Rita very easy to work with, her email communication is impeccable, and I know she's dedicated when I receive emails from her late at night. I could not have asked for anything more in legal counsel, and I thank you, Rita, for handling my case with expertise and compassion all at once. That is not an easy combination to find in a lawyer, but she has it in spades.

Negative stars if that option was on here. I was extremely disappointed with the handling of my case (dissolution of a short co-habitation - no kids). After more than 18 months (including taking almost an entire year to even get the statement of claim filed) and having billed me in excess of $30,000...they still hadn't resolved the matter. I finally terminated their services and represented myself successfully.
