Click to report rating    12/15/24   1     1     1     1     1   I had an extremely disappointing experience with Demi Okuboyejo who works with Oakley Family Law and feel compelled to share my concerns to help others make an informed decision. Throughout the entire process, I found her to be unprofessional and unhelpful. Communication was poor, and it felt like my time and money were completely wasted. Her approach lacked organization, and I didn’t feel supported or that any meaningful progress was made. If you're considering her services, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a more reliable and competent lawyer. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment—choose your legal representation wisely. RID: 271565
Click to report rating    8/27/20   5     5     5     5     5   I had a very positive experience with Mellissa and her staff. She gave great advice and was very knowledgeable throughout my separation and divorce. I would defiantly recommend her to anyone in my position or in need of legal advise. Mellissa and her team are true professionals. RID: 223526

3/1/20   1     1     1     1     1   I can not recommend Melissa or her law firm. Her associate Kayla dragged her toes on my file. She messed it up so bad then left the firm. I was excited to have the owner of the firm take over my file but it has been nothing but a headache since she took over. She is lazy and doesn't want to look after anyone. The entire office has no idea what they are doing an I urge everyone to not go Oakley Family law. Two lawyers there have messed up my divorce. RID: 220101

Click to report rating    11/27/19   5     5     5     5     5   Melissa is an amazing lawyer. My last lawyer was dreadful, never explained anything, never returned phone calls or emails. Melissa kept me informed at all times. If I didnt understand something she always took the time to explain it. Melissa is extremely knowledgeable. RID: 216534
Click to report rating    8/3/19   1     1     1     2     1   I could almost cut and paste the comment below. It’s exactly what happened to me. She’s as far away from the court house for a reason. She either never goes, doesn’t want to go or doesn’t know where it is. I’m not a family law lawyer but I think you have to leave your office at some point other than to just go home. And the google reviews. Read them closely. Probably an assignment for the staff. The lawyer I hired to do something other than her letter writing campaign for me had also never heard of her - and sad she looked 17. Pay more (elsewhere), get more I learned. RID: 213371
Click to report rating    5/21/19   2     1     2     2     1   I think she’s so far away from the court house tells you everything you need to know. I was bill 1/2 hr to read an email - because she said she made notes. I asked for the notes. No notes. Talks on the phones a lot and sends pointless letters usually for the bills for the other pointless letters. No one has heard of her and no one has heard of her for a reason. I’m taking her to Taxation. Watch your bill. You’ll pay $5 to sit down and $20 for a fake smile. File goes nowhere. It’s like purgatory. Go start w a new lawyer will cost another $5000. Get someone older, more relatable, more important clientele. She struggles. And it’s my life and my kids that pay the price. Keep charging, Melissa. 6 months later. Just at the letter phase still. I went cheap and paid for it. Avoid my mistake. RID: 211375

3/9/19   5     5     5     5     5   I came in for a consult on a Saturday. Yes I said a Saturday. Melissa took the time to go through everything with me. She has a plan together and we are going down the right path. I recommend Melissa and Oakley Family law to everyone. RID: 209224
Click to report rating    9/12/18   5     5     5     5     5   Melissa made time for me the day before I was leaving with my( joint custody) son for vacation in Mexico. I had forgotten to get the paperwork drafted that is required at boarder services. Very reasonably priced and fast turnaround saved the day. Thank you Melissa. RID: 203504
Click to report rating    9/12/18   5     5     5     5     5   Melissa is a compassionate and competent family lawyer whom I have referred many friends and clients to over the years. Everyone has given her rave reviews and thanked me for the introduction as she provides exceptional value for the money. She has way more litigation (court) experience than most other lawyers who were in her graduating class as a result of her dedication to helping women in need through the Legal Aid program early in her career. This knowledge of the process and the judicial system enables her to provide accurate and timely advice. Melissa is known for her quality of service and advice. You are in good hands with Melissa. Click to report rating    5/21/17   1     1     1     1     1   Very bad lawyer; bad advises, lazy, overcharging for her service, not experienced RID: 185110
Click to report rating    12/16/16   1     1     1     1     1   I spent a huge amount of money over 2 years (before she opened her own office) and got no where. She also gave me really bad advice telling me not to include my employment bonus information in my financial disclosure. She said it would be considered as property so I didn't have to disclose it as income. This was completely wrong and of course it made ME look like I was trying to be dishonest when questioned on it. I later moved to a different lawyer, Kirsten Grant, who wrapped up my case in 5 months and properly explained how bonus income works. My new lawyer not only finished my case quickly, but at a fraction of the cost of what Melissa charged me. Melissa also lost important documents of mine and charged me extra money to do the same thing 2 or 3 times (emailing the same letter to me twice and charging me for each email). Dealing with my second lawyer, Kirsten, was a way better experience. I wish I had found Kirsten first. RID: 178070
