A family member had an upcoming court date. I am the only advocate. I called Ms Smith to introduce myself and to see if I could be s character witness or otherwise help out. My call was not returned. I went to court. Others have told me that with his permission, this attorney should have done liaison between my brother and myself before agreeing to a plea. This was not done. Nearly delirious, my brother agreed to a plea with 6 months jail time. After court I introduced myself and Ms Smith and I discussed the case. Two days later, I called her and asked for a copy of the court document. She said, "What is this about?" I said that I just wanted to read the document. I said "This is a public document, correct? I'm just asking for help" She said, "I have to talk to your brother about how much of the case I can discuss." We had discussed the ENTIRE case at the courthouse! I said again "This IS a public document?" She said "You want it, go to the courthouse" and hung up on me
