Terrible court presence and is very annoying to the judges to the detriment of the client. Very frustrating to deal with and doesn't take the time to listen to all the facts. Isn't always properly prepared for the court time. Horrendous fees to no resolve and just goes back to court over and over.

I've been working with Martina and her assistant Susan for a year now dealing with a child abuse case against my sons mother. I was referred to martina by my friend that used guyle clark with her accident claim and she was very impressed with how him and his firm dealt with the situation. Throughout this year of working together Martina never once made me feel alone, she was always there almost instantaneously with any advise or help that I needed. She is very to the point in order to keep costs low, but completely available and knowledgeable with all aspects of family law, she is not the type to give false info to get your hopes up. Martina has always dealt with my case as if she was going to court to protect her own son. I'm so lucky, grateful and have nothing but the best to say about Martina. HIGHLY RECOMMENED!

A lawyer that genuinely cares, which is more than can be said for most. Martina has always been there and always free to communicate even when it wasnt required. Her advice has saved me on more than one occasion. Compared to my previous council she has gone above and beyond in every way and I could not be happier with her services. If a friend that I valued needed a lawyer, I would recommend Martina. The industry needs more people like her.

Martina Milau's knowledge of family law and parental alienation is outstanding. She is a professional in and out of the court room. We are pleased with all results so far and are thankful she is our lawyer. I'm not sure why some people choose to bash her here unless maybe they are from the opposing sides and have lost their case to her. She truly cares for your family and wants the best in the outcome.

My separation was a total nightmare. I didn’t realize that my case was a high conflict divorce with alienation until I hired Martina. She was always here for me. She fought for my kids the same way she would fight for hers. She was extremely quick to respond to all issues, she was honest and realistic. She has lots of knowledge in alienation, which helped us to build a stronger case. She represented very well in court on multiple applications that we filed, very professional and confident. Martina and I worked together well, because I trusted her knowledge and her experience.

Talk about arrogance. While Martina is efficient and serious lawyer, she simply doesn't listen... she wants the client case and wishes to fit into her realm and if the client doesn't then she gets angry. I couldn't continue working with a lawyer who doesn't listen and it is either her way or the highway.

Unfortunately, she is a liar. She will lie to win her case. She didnt care about my child, she just wanted to win.Other lawyers hate her and this lead to no settlement and higher legal costs. Avoid her at all costs as she is a disgusting human being.

I hired Martina after two years of trying to negotiate with my husband directly, with my family and kids progressively getting more fractured and dysfunctional. Within two months, we had a parenting schedule and the entire family was in family counseling. While not always polite, Martina was very direct and communicated things to the point. She often showed me the argument for the other side so I could prepare for what to expect. She always gave me the worst case scenario along with the best. She told me right away that her style was frank and unapologetic, but that did not sway me as I hired her to be my lawyer not my friend. She told me she would be available if I needed her and she was always available even when it was just to reassure me about something that had occurred on a weekend. I hired her to get things done, and she did. My relationship with my kids is back on track and my ex now knows he can’t mess with me… Thanks Martina !!!

Martina's disposition leaves something to be desired. Gets angry and out the focus when not getting her way. Actually looses it while communicating with other lawyers that don't comply with her wishes. Out of sinc with newer technologies and what is expected of people in current life styles whether rich or poor. Assumes too much of things she knows nothing about but believes she can pass judgement on. Doesn't care about what is just, just about winning. Can't take the pressure of conflict with another without anger showing. Arrogant, rude and demeaning, often plain mean. I agree with the person who wrote that either people writing reviews here were not being completely frank about Martina or a few were written by friends and colleagues. Our case was prolonged therefore higher legal cost due to her temperament.

My review comes from three years of divorce proceedings and a long trial with Martina. She can be very upfront and honest about the issues; at times painfully honest when your child is at stake. But I understood that it was done to prep me for the realities of a trial and the legal system. She is not the lawyer for anyone who can't handle this or wants their hand held the entire time. Having said that, I found her effective and she got the job done as efficiently as possible. She knew family law well compared to other lawyers I've tried and I always felt good value for the bills that came in (how many people can say that?) I'm grateful to have found her.

I think Martina has a lot of friends giving good reviews of her online. It would appear that she has two personalities, this caring one I never encountered and then the one that flies off the handle, is condescending, forgetful and rude, which I did encounter. Martina needs some serious self-reflection on how she treats people. If you go with the good reviews, good luck to you. She was the most toxic part of my divorce so don't say you haven't been warned. All the power to you if you like her, but who knows which Martina you will get.

I agree with many of these reviews! Martina has represented me after my previous lawyer (who was also exceedingly competent) ran out of strategies to deal with an unfair and unstable ex-husband. My situation was becoming increasingly critical and complex as my ex-spouse was ignoring all previous court orders and convincing one of our children to have nothing to do with me. Martina jumped right in. She did not disappoint! She is EVER SO caring, compassionate and COMPETENT! That's exactly what we needed! She was the driving force in settling our very acrimonious situation with an absolutely outstanding enforceable order. We wanted the best and we got the best!

My husband hired Martina to get his son back from his ex wife who was keeping him from us and our entire side of the family. She listened to us and kept us on track legally with what needed to be done. Our case dealt with severe parental alienation, which is not acknowledged very much in the courts. Martina won us full custody with a protection order and a program to help my step son deal with all that had happened to him. She was focused, well educated and professional in the courtroom. Her rates are always for the best interest of her clients. We have recommended her countless times since we've met her. If you need a lawyer because you've been served by your ex, especially if you have kids, go to Martina!

I met Martina just over a year ago, and when she heard my story she declared it “an emergency”. She immediately went into action, and it seemed as if my nightmare was her only priority, even though I knew she had several other big cases she was working on at the time. Martina was able to help me when other lawyers were ineffective. She works hard, is very efficient, and handles herself well in the courtroom. Her knowledge of the law and expertise in the area of parent alienation cases is second to none. I owe her more than money could possibly compensate for. Her fees were reasonable and much more cost-effective than previous lawyers had been. I know that she did not charge me for every minute or every page or every email. She was available to me whenever I needed her and was flexible with meetings to accommodate my schedule. Any criticism of her knowledge or legal skills is ridiculous, and would likely only come from a disgruntled opposing client who was not able manipulate her. Her assistant is a lovely and wonderful person. Any words contrary to this is untruthful. Martina displayed a very keen knowledge of Family Law and was very diligent in keeping my daughter Corinna well informed during her ongoing litigation. She had the tenacity it took to stay "right on track" amidst the "flurry of attacks" from the oppressors in the litigation. Martina represented my wife in trial with her ex husband and obtained a very positive outcome. I attended that trial and was very impressed with how Martina took charge and handled things for my wife. I would not hesitate to refer Martina in the future and know that my friends would be looked after professionally. I wish they would give me more than 1000 words to express how awesome Martina is. I met Martina after years of difficulty dealing with my ex husband who along with his mother was alienating our children. Martina was able to achieve what none of my previous lawyers had and that was getting my ex husband to trial to face up to what he had done. Martina was able to go through my 30 bankers boxes and streamline my case to fit into the 3 week trial. Martina is super honest, extremely hard working and loyal to her clients. Martina threw her heart into my case and I believe she will always do that as she only takes cases she believes in. I know Martina did not always charge me for her time so I do not believe the first review. Martina has great personality which greatly helped the stress of the trial.
