I don't know why I didn't rate Michael sooner, it could be the shock of disappointment. I too was a victim of his false promises and inabilaties as a lawyer during the 2018 Northmont timeshare fiasco. I ended up paying 12 times the amount to get out a contract by falling for Michael's empty words and ineptitude. He is very smooth talking but does not produce results. It's the worst experience I ever had with a lawyer and wish upon nobody else.

Geldert Law is not your run-of-the-mill type of law office. I came to them for contractual review and incorporation services for my small business and found them approachable, genuine and professional. As a business owner himself, Michael understood the challenges of running a business. They took their time to listen and made me feel they really cared. Have to say that Michael did a tremendous job with my inheritance conflict. His dedication, his reassurance was truly comforting. He had no easy task as this involved a messy family estate spanning many provinces. Michael's patience was admirable, as his diligent work aloud him to reach a settlement that was beneficial to everyone. Michael's caring nature for his clients is felt from the moment you first speak to him. Many times he could have charged me as I was very upset and stressed about the whole situation. Took us on when we owed about $4,500 and felt the charge was unreasonable. We ended up paying over $25,000 and he called it an "excellent result". He would make a better politician than a lawyer.

Micheal Geldert is totally incompetent and sorely lacking in his knowledge of the law and how to conduct himself in dealing with judges and opposing legal teams. He strung us along with bad advice and ,in the end ,lied to his clients and did bill collection for the other side while still on our payroll. He hired numerous others to do his research and litigation for him again, with our money, but never a professional negotiator. We would have been much better off with no lawyer. If anyone is looking to be lead down the garden path , lied to and, in the end , have the rug totally pulled out from under them in order to pay so many thousands of dollars as to jeopardize their retirement, Micheal Geldert is the lawyer for you. Come on Law Society, this guy is a disgrace to your profession.

I was one of those represented by Mr. Geldert in the Sunchaser timeshare class action lawsuit. I had to pay close to $50,000.00. Mr. Geldert did reply that my payment and documents were all in order. However he would not comment on why he went ahead and settled on our behalf without informing us or any input from us. He has originally told me that I would be getting a settlement from Northmont for unused years. I could not believe the bill when it came but was told I had to pay by the due date or I would owe close to $110,000.00. It was hard paying the original, I could not pay more. That was over two months ago and I have not yet received any release documents that were to be mailed the following week. Phone calls to his office go to a recording and calls are not returned. This is very worrisome. Wondering if anyone has received their release documents?

Mr Geldert has represented us in the timeshare lawsuit against Northmont/Fairmont/Sunchaser involving roughly 1500 owner/clients. He represented us in court three times, very ineffectively, and in the end our cost HE negotiated is about 4 times what we would have had to pay before he started helping us. We feel deceived and misrepresented by Mr Geldert, who now wants MORE fees for his latest debacle.

Our families have been in despair since this past Christmas when Mr Geldert notified us that he and Northmont had arrived into a settlement agreement without ever consulting us. (We wish to reiterate that the "consent" obtained by Mr Geldert from us, was obtained with false pretenses and malice). Northmont is an unscrupulous company that have very clever people working there. Between Mr Wankel and Mr Sauvageau's experience in fraudulent cases, added to Mr Geldert's ineptitude and unethical behavior, there is no doubt that you will lose your assets. Mr Geldert's "way out" of any type of litigation is agreeing to any settlement at the expense of his clients' interests. The number of people who have refused to accept the negotiated settlement is evidence of its unreasonableness. Mr Geldert has ruined the lives of hundreds of seniors and young families. When your future is being gambled, the last thing you need is retaining an incompetent attorney like Michael Geldert.

Michael Geldert was hired by a group of timeshare owners and in the end he ignored his clients interests and followed the timeshare company demands. Michael Geldert was hired by a group of almost 2000 timeshare owners to fight Northmont Resort Properties for four years. Geldert was ill prepared for the three times he took Northmont to court and in the end his poor negotiating skills cost his clients, mostly seniors, tens of thousands of dollars in overdue maintenance fees and interest. In the end Geldert admitted defeat and signed a contract on our behalf without consulting with the group, even though he promised that the group would have input before he signed anything.
He can’t be trusted to act in your best interests!
