I had a consultation with Mr Marcus Sixta and Ms Anchal Gupta regarding a very particular fertility law situation. During the consultation they took time to understand not just my exact question but my motivation for the question. Which led to them explaining to me that what I believed about fertility law agreements was not correct in my specific case, that another part of family law was more relevant and that I actually had financial exposure I was completely unaware of. They suggested some mitigation strategies as well. Mr Markus and Ms Anchal were very knowledgeable, professional, to the point but also kind and understanding. This is a difficult conversation to have. I really appreciated how they handled it.

Even when I’d ramble on in my most stressed state, Marcus and team were great at calming me down, being supportive, strategic and were really there for me. He saw through the games the other side would play, always stayed ethical (even when they didn’t), and got a great result in the end. I came to Crossroads Law after 3 other lawyers in my high conflict divorce from a narcissistic abusive partner with a high conflict lawyer who refused to negotiate anything out of court.
I chose Marcus because of his secondary background in social work, which I believed would make him more likely to understand the abuse I continued to suffer. He and his team did not let me down. Marcus, Camille and Amanda were all kind, understanding, professional, responsive, gave excellent advice and managed to effectively handle my ex's aggressive and often unethical lawyers.
They shared the work on my file well to keep my costs as reasonable as possible, and still provided amazing service and representation. They won my mobility trial, which gave me primary care over my kids and the right to move back home closer to family - all after 4 years of fighting - effectively saving my children and I from our abuser.

Marcus has a great way of distilling the important, valuable, and nascent points out of my ramblings. During mediation he was aggressive when it was needed, and he was calculating/strategic/defensive when that was needed. He is my voice of reason and he's got my back (even if that means telling me to rewrite that scathing email I typed in a fit of rage). I had an initial consultation with Marcus and found him to be compassionate, authentic and knowledgeable in his field. He was quick to follow up with information and as a result, made the decision to not move forward at this time. I appreciate that he was gentle in his approach, made sure that my needs came first and he helped bring clarity to the situation. Marcus, I have asked you and asked you to pay attention to my file; Nope, too busy travelling back and forth Vancouver to Calgary. Again and again that was the excuse. Enough! My suggestion? Choose Vancouver over Calgary, because not only do you not know Alberta law you devote too much time to Vancouver.

I would agree with the other comments here. Mr. Sixta provided very good service on my difficult and emotional case with children. We had inernational law issues as my ex lives in the USA. It was very complex and my ex was hiding money all over the place. Mr Sixta has experience in these kinds of files so he did a great job. Everything worked out!
