We worked with Fan for roughly 7 years in a long, heated, high conflict separation. Fan is pretty cut throat but be prepared for her to tell you when you’ve messed up too. She is amazing, knowledgeable, and on it. She helped me go from an every other weekend schedule, to sole custody and primary care when my ex was trying to take my daughter away from me entirely. She is a boss!

I’ve used fan for many years. Love hate relationship but she wins every time for me. She is the best and if you want to win. Then get her. She gets mad at me but sometimes I need it haha. She’s the best. I owe her the world for what she has done.

Fan is rude and condescending. The perfect lawyer. She is a pit bull. I will always use her for family matters. She gets the job done.

The knowledge that Fan brought forward was excellent; her ability to break "legal-speak" down to simple language I was able to understand made the process so much easier. Her communications were always timely and professional. The party she was speaking with on my behalf can be rude and condescending but she never took the bait. She also never backed down and stuck to the law and what was expected for both parties. She was able to sense when fear was making me second guess my decisions (my rights), and took the time to explain why this fear wasn't necessary. She was supportive and understanding and instilled confidence in my decisions. The quality of her work was always strong and if I found something I wasn't certain of and questioned her on it, she did not get defensive; she explained it or adjusted it to reflect more closely what I wanted. Fan is the fourth lawyer I have used in my family law case;Fan stepped in and fixed a mess left by other lawyers flawlessly. EXCELLENT VALUE!

As a former client of Fan Mackenzie, I found her to be rude, condescending, and irrational; she made utterly bizarre assumptions about me, and dogmatically disbelieved facts. It was crazy and completely unprofessional. I switched to another lawyer and had no problems at all.

Mrs Fan Mckenzie has no ethics or morals. Anytime we’re getting close to resolution, she antagonizes us by raising the support issue. My ex wrote to all parties (August 2020):
"We can put aside the issue of spousal support”.
Mrs Fan responded:
“Please disregard the earlier email from my client as he inadvertently copied you.To be clear, Mr.X has not waived his rights to spousal support.”
Ha, Ha, who cares what the client wants, she wants more billable hours $$$
My ex had to call her and argue to stop the emails, He called me later and apologized for his lawyer behaviour.
Mrs Fan recycles the support emails every few months. Her recent email: "On a without prejudice basis, Mr.X has stated that he is willing to resolve spousal support on a much lower basis than his entitlement but as the property was not resolved, we are preparing for court.”

I recently worked with Fan preparing an amending separation agreement to support my divorce application. Fan was great to work with - always providing detailed explanations so that I could understand all aspects of the agreement. She was very responsive and always make me feel like my file was important. I would highly recommend retaining Fan for any of your family law related needs.
