I was referred to Mr. Petroff for a pending divorce through my work. I successfully got them to remove him from their referral list. He initially made claims that I would not owe any child support since me and my wife's incomes were so similar. He failed to tell me, in the end, I would be solely responsible for non-insurance covered medical, extra-curricular activities and college payments. So basically hundreds of dollars a month (or the equivalent of child support). I also asked him if we could cap the non-insurance covered medical payments to protect me in case one of my children had a serious medical issue so I was not the only one paying out of pocket. He replied, "good idea". Is that not the first thought that a lawyer should have in this circumstance. Is it the client's responsibility to suggest this? He had wrong info in Parenting plan that needed to be fixed and re-negotiated at my expense. I didn't feel he fought hard for my best interests. I would look for another attorney.
