Daniel Richardson and his team at BTM represented me in my personal injury claim with ICBC. I felt that my case was a priority as I was well looked after every step of the way and I am very pleased with the settlement outcome. I have worked with Daniel and BTM Lawyers for 6 years. I have used them for a personal injury claim, family law, and they take care of all my business law as well. I find them to be extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive whenever I need anything. I do not normally refer people easily. Daniel Richardson's charges ended up being more than 3 times his estimate. As well, DR did not keep his promise (specified in his retainer letter) to send us monthly bills, which would have alerted us to his increasing charges. When asked for explanations regarding his fees, DR became evasive, condescending, or even (on one occasion) insulting (he apologized after I complained via email about his behaviour). I am not a lawyer and I do not have any legal experience but I was so dismayed by his charges and refusal to give any explanations that I ended up filing a complaint in Small Claims Court. I am happy to report that the Judge who chaired our mediation told Mr. Richardson that his case was "weak." Ultimately, Mr. Richardson settled and refunded me $3500.
