Mr. Mountford has an exceptional understanding of the system. He will advise you in a way that will get you through the emotional and financial hardships of Family Law ....with as little pain as possible. He is a wise, compassionate and decent man that wants what’s right for his client..... and at the same time not billing for no reason or results. If needed he is a Wolf in sheep’s clothing; while being respected by the courts and his piers. We have been very fortunate to have found Mr. Mountford. If it wasn’t for him and his wonderful staff, we would not be having our quality of lives back and with a fair settlement we have not regretted . Jamie is an absolute professional litigator. You could not ask for a better person by your side. He is fair, tenacious, organized, planned, and prepared for each meeting with his clients and with his colleagues or opposing lawyers. My experience with Jamie was excellent. He always provided good advice and counsel in a balanced way. Jamie always took the time and effort to relate to me and my situation. Jamie explained complex items by giving real-life examples or potential scenarios and outcomes. Jamie is thorough, and will advise when to take a firm line vs. making a potential concession. Jamie has a calm disposition which helps during 1:1 meetings but you have the sense that he can be firm and stern as needed to protect your interests. Hopefully I never need his services again, but if I do he's my go-to!

We all provide comments on he bad experiences. I felt compelled to takethe time to leave a good one. Based on such positive reviews of this page, I had decided to schedule a consultation with James despite the 2.5 hour commute. From our 1st meeting, I knew he was the one, with his very calming yet assertive personality. He has a great sense of humour, which is much welcome in sensitive/ emotional situations like dealing with divorce. He reviewed a poorly drafted Separation Agreement from my ex's lawyer and he picked it apart and reviewed every section with me so that I understood what I was up against. Very honest and knowledgeable man. He always kept me in the loop, always quick to answer emails, and his costs are what is expected for a high-quality lawyer who gets the job done quickly. His assistant Sarah is excellent also- on top of monthly invoicing and great communication. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Jamie is such an incredible lawyer and I cannot say enough good things about this man. From the very first consultation pertaining to a separation agreement, he was very honest and straight up with the facts, expectations, and costs associated with opening a can of worms and potentially going to trial. He has a very calming personality and great sense of humour, that his presence is always a welcome one amidst high stress situations. He will tell you if you’re being unrealistic, keep you focused on what matters without adding further tension and anger. He diffuses the situation, which was shocking compared to the average divorce lawyer who we found to rattle us up and encourage fighting. We travelled all the way from Sarnia to have Jamie defend us, and he was well worth and time and money. In the end, this is a genuine man who isn’t naturally out for blood. He will fight for you if it comes to that point, but I appreciated him wanting to resolve the matters at hand quickly and amicably

I have been dealing with Jamie for a couple of years now & unlike most Lawyers, I consider him to be a Friend in addition to being an outstanding Lawyer! Our experience with Jamie was just what we needed, when we needed it. I wen't with my mother to meet Jamie who was recommended by Susan sullivan. He was honest with my Mother who was trying to get my daughter temporary kinship. He was honest and advised that it could not be done in her unreasonable time line.
