The last commentator (circa October/24) was totally bang-on!When I first went to his office, he totally lacked common courtesy and respect. He started blaming me for my situation re: my ex-girlfriend refusing visitation with my son, without knowing anything about me. He also said that my physical size was intimidating (he's a little shrimp himself). The overall degree of emotional abuse was so intimidating that I broke down in tears - even as a mature, grown man! I have never been so disrespected! In contrast, his correspondence with the opposing lawyer was egregiously obsequious. Finally, I woke up, and fired him. I previously drafted an apt entry on this site, but it somehow "disappeared". One cannot help but think that most of the positive entries on this site were written by he and his friends. But from my perspective, stay away from this scumbag ... he clearly has major issues and is a devious manipulator of his clients!

Hands down the worst family lawyer in Winnipeg. Sandip is a classic example of someone who should of bowed out of his practice years ago while he was ontop. He’s got one foot out the door in the retirement home, checked out and is milking the last batch of his files. Your file will drag on and on and on while you keep topping up his retainer. I repeat do not hire Sandip Sett to represent you as a family lawyer. He does absolutely nothing on your file while you wait and wait and wait and provide him everything he needs and the direction he needs to do his job. Manitoba justice implemented the family triage system in 2019, this guy still calls it the “new system” 5-6 years later. An absolute disappointment hiring this lawyer to represent me. If this sounds like your file and your reading this report him to the Manitoba Law Society, this guy needs to go.

Mr. Sett has been, and still is, a valuable asset for my situation. I have gone through a very tumultuous, and exhausting divorce process. Even though the divorce is finalized, issues still arise and Mr. Sett has stood by his word and has been there to back me and my daughter up every step of the way. Mr. Sett is a rare person in today’s world, he has shown me that men of honesty, and integrity still exist. Mr. Sett’s professionalism, experience, and knowledge comes at a cost, but he is worth every penny. I started with a more economically friendly lawyer, and it caused setbacks in a few areas. Mr. Sett was able to turn a bad situation around, and make it into a manageable and fair situation for my daughter and I today. Mr. Sett will simplify matters, stick to the facts, and prevent a potentially messy situation from getting worse. Mr. Sett serves his clients with respect, dignity, and honour. If I could, I would give 10 stars!

If I could give mr sett 10stars I would i called him for a custody matter(I have to children that live with me full time but no court order) he did a consultation over the phone to get a idea of my situation i informed of my situation he advised me of what I should before hiring a lawyer.he is very knowledgeable and polite from speaking I got the feeling he is a person that is looking out for his clients best interest a lot of lawyers want to get your money and have a quick agreement done between the two parties I didn't get that feeling when I spoke to him over the phone

For a few years, Mr.Sett has been my dependable divorce/child lawyer. He has been involved in many committees made up of professionals from organizations which deal with various factors affecting children. He is very experienced, hard working, punctual and efficient. He is honest about everything: costs, timelines and likely realistic outcomes before, during and after case conferences at the courthouse. He is great at communicating with me in person, email or phone, giving me peace of mind in a chaotic time by being calm, caring, approachable and by understanding human nature. From the first moment I sat down in Sandip's office to discuss my divorce I felt a form of relief and for the first time, hope. I came in very emotional and with an abundance of patience, Sandip was able to redirect me and focus on what I was going to need to work on in order to get through this process. What I appreciate the most about him, was his constant support, his listening ear, his honesty and advice and the fact he never allowed me to give up, even on the darkest days. It seems to be rare these days that a man will get sole custody of 3 children and a house signed over to him, when his name isn't even on the title. However, through the patience and calmness of Sandip Sett this was possible. Things did not happen as fast as I wanted to, and hindsight, I am glad they didn't, I don't think the outcome would have been the same. Sandip's knowledge and understanding of law, along with his reputation serves him well. The outcome I received was beyond what I was expecting. He may not be the cheapest but he is worth every dollar spent.

Mr Sett provided some very smart advice in my case which resulted in a far better outcome. Sandip was great in dealing with a very difficult cross province custody case for my teenage child. He was very good at encouraging a calm, collected and reasonable approach to all the court proceedings and documents in order to ensure the best possible outcome. Sandip was always willing to discuss where we were at throughout the several month process and help guide me through. Sandip represented my child's best interest at the contested court hearing on my behalf and got the desired outcome in form of a final court order. Even after the hearing he would follow up with how the child was doing and help me through any disputes and difficulties with the other parent. I would definitely recommend Sandip Sett for anyone dealing with a difficult custody or access situation.

Having Mr. Sett as my lawyer was the best decision I ever made. Going through a difficult time on having to go through court I was able to trust him completely since the first moment I met with him. He replied to my emails very fast on any questions I had for him, and made me feel like i was a priority, within less then a few months, he helped me get full custody of my child. In an extremely difficult custody case with many complexities. Mr Sett was able to steadily and calmly guide us in the direction we needed to go. Family court is a difficult process to navigate. If you are fighting a tough custody battle, want result and value for your hard earned money then hire Mr. Sett for your case. I took his services for my case. I had hired a few lawyers before hiring him. I was extremely disappointed by their services as they kept on sending emails back and forth and raising my bill with absolutely no outcome. Mr. Sett exactly knew what I was talking about. He gave me a few advises and asked me to bring a few reports to strengthen my case. He produced result in one go. I told him that I can not afford to go to the trial but I need solution for the health issue I was facing for my son while in the care and control of my Ex. He resolved my issue without going to the trail. He is exceptionally intelligent, knowledgeable and his quality of work is excellent. My case is over now. He still checks with me occasionally to know how things are with my son. He is very kind, caring above all a strong professional. I strongly recommend him.

Super...Best...Excellent Lawyer in Winnipeg. He is expensive lawyer but worth hiring him especially if you are dealing with custody battle. Nothing is important than your children. I used three layers for my case. He is the one who actually got the thing done. My other two lawyers did their best but could not get the result I wanted/for the best interest of my children. I strongly recommend this lawyer to you especially if you are dealing with a tough custody battle. Thank you Mr. Sett
