I called this firm as a sexual abuse and IPV survivor, explicitly requesting to read my prepared statement because I’m autistic and phone calls are difficult. I was hopeful after reading their website but was completely unprepared for what happened. She interrupted me constantly, repeatedly spoke over me, condescendingly and aggressively dismissed my accessibility requests, mocked my understanding of legal options, and spoke in a highly contemptuous manner that left me shaking and heart racing. This was not just a bad fit or poor timing, it was blatant emotional abuse and gaslighting. I would strongly deter other survivors from calling this lawyer. Appalling and abrasive and psychologically dangerous her tone. She’s excellent at being passive aggressive and condescending though, so if you’re an abuser who needs an ally, she’s probably a good defence lawyer as she knows how to disorient, provoke and then disengage in a way that benefits any oppressive agenda. She should be disbarred.

A disgusting human being. Truly repugnant. Rude, abrasive, the worst of the worst. Should not be allowed to practice law. A liar and a huge b..ch. she has no problem destroying a family as long as she gets paid. Will drag out a divorce that should take a month to over 3 years just to line her slimey pockets. I’m not sure how many complaints the law society has against her but I’m sure it’s a lot . She’s sneaky and I’ve watch her throw people under a bus more than once. Even experts who are testifying for her client. To add insult to injury she is very unpleasant to look at. Dresses in black and that suits her personality. I could go on forever but hopefully you get the picture. A vile human being that any potential client should steer clear of.

I was the victim in the case...but I felt like everything was my fault. Ms. Ellis humiliated and belittled me. I was left in tears many times. If you are hurting and need a compassionate lawyer to understand and fight for you, Ms. Ellis is the wrong person. She outright told me I was pathetic! I paid a high price in legal fees before leaving and finding another lawyer who restored my faith in the justice system!

Looking for an experienced, technically knowledgeable, “win-at-all-costs-to-you “ lawyer who is a cold, judgmental, egocentric (insert b-word commonly used to describe a female dog) then look no further. She is a winner and if your goal is to win at any cost and you can accept the result of feeling like you lost after winning then do not hesitate to retain her services. You will have the pleasure of working with many different legal assistants and staff as “company” in Megan Ellis & Company refers to the replacements of staff who quit swiftly after being hired and cannot tolerate her character. Her website states “Megan Ellis & Company is a small firm of experienced and committed lawyers”, yet she is the only lawyer; therefore she must be referring to herself in the plural as a worthy justification for her ego and greatness. A great lawyer with an obvious sad story of unresolved pain which has created an angry, lonesome and bitter person who is in desperate need of a hug and friend.

Great lawyer, negative reviews are from clients of opposing counsel who lost due to their lies and alter perception of the law.

Megan Ellis represented my ex husband in our dissolution of marriage. Her vengeful, cold hearted determination to win at all costs did get her client a great settlement but was a contributing factor to the fatal overdose of our oldest child, she also attempted to force myself into trial after a serious illness that would have had seriously harmed me, my Doctor had to get involved to get Ms Ellis to desist. Further to this Ms Ellis supianed a family friend who had flown half way around the world to be by her Mothers beside as the Morhers death was eminent and Ms Ellis was trying to force the family friend to Skype her for the divorce interview. If you don’t care about your any human compassion and want parched earth tactics, this is your lawyer.

This lawyer has cost a friend of mine a great deal of money due the fact she missing a date for filing a brief. She owns the company and is THE lawyer but she blamed the error on her staff. How pathetic is that.

After a year of paying this lawyer, my daughter had no idea what her strategy was. When I accompanied my daughter to a paid consultation and began asking some reasonable questions about her strategy and plan going forward, she told my daughter it was time for her to find a new lawyer. I asked my daughter if she had heard this, and she said she had, looking at me perplexed. Mrs. Ellis then repeated her direction, with the condition "if your father will be involved". She then told my daughter that she was being billed for an hour, told me to get out of her office, and asked my daughter if she wished to continue consulting for the remainder of the hour. I waited outside. This occurred 2 months before a scheduled trial and turned out to be very expensive for us. Our new lawyer found no evidence of a plan or strategy or preparation for trial in the file, simply a collection of documents. The adversary informed the new lawyer that she and ms ellis were very close to settlement? wtf????

Megan Ellis has been a wonderful lawyer for me. She worked very hard with my case and has been very understanding and sympathetic. Worth every penny

I'm super disappointed in Megan. I had every intention of retaining her (even at her high cost) and I could't get over the initial consult. She was extremely rude, and was basically telling me to go elsewhere as this wasn't going to result in a big family trial case for her. There are many more prominent law companies to retain, to get the same service with a much better attitude.
