I hired Ms. Leeds to assist in my divorce proceedings earlier this year. Sadly, working with her was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a professional.I retained her to file paperwork in a simple, low-conflict divorce mid-March 2017. At the time when I hired her, I was told that the work would take 3-5 hours in total and that she could have everything filed within a week. I paid her a $1500 retainer, but ended up having to file myself because, by mid-May, she had still never filed anything for me. She flat out lied and said that she had filed all of my divorce paperwork, but after going to Family Court myself, I learned that she had never filed anything. She refunded half of what I paid her, but dragged the divorce out for months longer than would have been the case had she done what she agreed to do when hired.
The whole process was sad and stressful enough on its own without having the person who is supposed to advocate for you lying. It was awful.
