Kavita is hands-down the worst lawyer I have had the misfortune of working with. These good ratings are probably purchased. This lawyer only works hard for MALE clients, she was actually colluding with my ex-husband's lawyer to get things done his way and charging me for every interaction she had even with their lawyer. She is supposed to be very experienced and knowledgeable but she totally tried to screw me over in the settlement and financial statements. Purposefully fudging the calculations so my ex-husband would avoid paying support and I would end up owing him money! She overcharged me every step of the way and was trying to gouge me for more when I fired her a$$. I ended up using a WAY better lawyer who was fair and ended up getting me all that I was expecting for a fraction of the cost - oh and Kavita doesnt accept Legal Aid which means she isnt the paragon of virtue she projects herself to be. I had the opportunity of having Kavita represent me in my family law trial and can safely say it was one of the best decisions I've made in this long saga. Kavita made my mediation process incredibly seamless, quick and easy. My husband had a really hard time understanding division of our assets, and she was able to explain it to him in less than half an hour in a very different way. Her communication skills were excellent, she tried many different ways to help him understand how it worked and ensured that his concerns were validated and he felt heard. She was able to help him keep his cool and we came to common ground very quickly. Kavita was clear that we did not need to go to court on this, and did not try to upsell us on more time or anything. She dealt with our issue with clear and concise facts, open and effective communication and ensured that both parties felt good by the end of the session. She really is excellent in her profession, I'd highly recommend her for any family law needs.

Appreciate the help and advise. This kind of experience is rare in the GTA area. Also I like the fact that the area of specialization is clearly laid out. I contacted Kavita following a mediated separation agreement. I found her incredibly perceptive in her approach with me. She easily identified the information and resources I brought to our meeting and treated me with compassion and respect. Kavita Bhagat is the best Lawyer I have met. Money is not her priority. I was referred to 2 lawyers. When I called her, our first conversation went very well in the point I didn?t call the second lawyer in my list. I used my feeling to judge and I got it right. Kavita is a great and kind person/lawyer. She understands how is hard for parents dealing with kids, work and legal cases. She works hard and that made me feel that somebody is fighting for me. In my case it was very important to have somebody who is really fighting for me, I was dealing with the lost of my partner who passed away after fighting against a cancer, and the adoption of her kid (an orphan) at the same time. She was very flexible to accommodate with my time. I got couple appointments in the weekend with her. I strongly recommend her. My case of adoption was complex (no will) but she successfully handles it professionally. I took my time to write this review because it worth. Call her and you will agree with me.

I first contacted Kavita, after looking being highly recommended by a colleague. During my consultation, she provided the level of confidence I was expecting. Not only did she help me through my divorce, but she fought my case as if I were a part of her family. There were many instances where she was available to speak to me on very short notice, and on one instance where I walked into her office with a major concern and no appointment, which she helped resolve right away. While the opposing counsel turned out be a freak who would not communicate in a timely manner, Kavita Bhagat addressed all the issues and handled them in a highly professional manner.
Just to add She made every effort to keep me involved and apprised of my ex's many filings. That in itself, wasn’t easy! It was reassuring to know that She took my predicament seriously and made every effort to resolve what had been a long ordeal

My uncle was going through a separation and visited with Kavita to review his case, within a very short time she had good picture of what was going on and what needed to be done and started acting right away. I have rated Kavita a "5" in all categories, since I am comparing her to other Lawyers I have used before for other issues. Her knowledge of family Law is great as this is her specialization and she was able to guide me in establishing realistic expectations. She is tenacious as I was dealing with a bad ex-spouse who wanted everything and we stuck to facts to agree on a suitable outcome. Her expectations for reimbursement was set at the beginning and I was not faced with unexpected additional charges. Overall I would recommend her as I received good value and a timely closure to my divorce.We had established a professional relationship, however she was empathetic to the situation. She is a certified mediator and for this reason i chose her as I did not want to go to court. She ensured the separation agreement was done without having to go to court.

Kavita brings verbal communication back and for with the other party. She says the other party said "this" and turns out they never said that. she charges for every email, even those she never answered back or those where she says she can't answer. she can go off her limits and becomes rude. she orders you what to do and gets mad if you disagree ;(
