Nice lady but more concerned about billable hours. She has a problem with moving a case forward. I was a lot of $$ down by the time I decided to find another lawyer.

Turning an extremely large amount of communications into results was an issue. Very expensive, especially considering what was accomplished up until I terminated the relationship, which I see as a very positive move on my part. Appeared to have her own agenda and my requests were largely not recognized.

Taryn was good at keeping paperwork organized. The problem was she didn't seem capable of moving ahead. Duplicate letters to opposing counsel asking for the same thing over and over but opposing counsel completely ignoring correspondence. Whatever opposing counsel wanted trumped what I the client asked her to do. Charged outrageous fees and got nothing accomplished. Fired her after a year of wasted time. Do yourself a big favour and stay away from her!

I would have an EXTREMELY difficult time recommending this lawyer. The previous rating worded things very well!

I will start by saying that Taryn is a nice person. My expectation was that I was hiring someone that would work with me, fight for me on my behalf, and ensure that a fair and amicable deal was reached. She seems to have a decent understanding of family law but the majority of advice she provided is what was laid out in the support calculator guidelines. I felt that when I had questions and concerns about the process it was just directed back to the support calculator guidelines along with a shrug of the shoulders and a response of "that's what it says". I strongly recommend that you seek the expertise of a lawyer if you ever have to go through this to get legal representation for your protection. However, I am unable to recommend Taryn as someone that I would ever refer to anyone needing solid legal representation. If the ultimate goal was to just get a divorce then she succeeded at that. If you want a fair deal and someone that will go to bat for you then you need to look elsewhere

In a divorce that took five years longer than it should have, ended in an extremely unfair settlement, and it seemed that Taryn was terrified of other lawyers, we now learn that she screwed up so badly that it could cost us another $80,000!!! Her and Pushor Mitchell's solution is to arbitrarily just stop acting as our counsel. That's her idea of being on "her client's side" - just jumping ship as soon as SHE screws up. Maybe she is good at filling out forms or being a notary, but I definitely wouldn't be trusting her with anything important!! For example - a person's future!!

Taryn was great. She is very knowledgeable and works hard to educate everybody. She took care of my interests and worked closely with the other lawyer to make sure our child's interests were taken care of first and foremost.

Taryn chooses to believe her opponents' counsel instead of her own clients'. She bends with the wind and does not fight for her clients. She backs off way too easily and really has no guts at all. As soon as opposing counsel says anything contrary, she just says "okay" and carries on, fully expecting her clients to pay for things that are clearly and legally not their issues. Her communication style is weak, her fees are exorbitant considering what DOESN'T get done. She doesn't practice due diligence in researching the laws in Canada and BC and just accepts whatever opposing counsel throws her way. She will ALWAYS choose her fellow lawyers (even opposing ones) over her clients. She is more concerned with her network of fellow lawyers than fighting for her clients. The mistakes in our case were unbelievable, she missed things that a high school kid could figure out with a Google search. We would definitely NOT recommend Taryn Moore. She will take your money, but that's about it.
