Courtney is amazing. She's helpful, knowledgeable and approachable. The folks who rated her as "1s" across the board, are probably fake reviews. Remember, no lawyer can "guarantee" an outcome. Just because you didn't get the results you expected, doesn't mean the lawyer didn't do their job. You can't go wrong with Courtney.

My ex is one who has posted here as saying she has helped him with his ex who has" serious mental health issues". He is abusive and using the system to abuse me and my children. I have been cleared by mental health professionals all along and have post secondary healthcare education myself. Courtney is facing numerous complaints about her unethical legal practice and I have been contacted by other lawyers to encourage me to file complaints on her based on her unethics. She is underhanded and extremely dishonest. She delays and milks proceedings so she makes money. Period. She tells her advises her clients in such a manner that keeps their issues " never ending" so she can charge. For example the man who claims she is so awesome by helping him with never ending issues is the very reason the issues do not end. He could have utilized her to get custody divorce settled- if its settled she makes no money. She supports abusers.

I have had the same experience with Courtney; Her real characteristic was research. We showed up at a meeting with a Judge for a JDR; The opposing lawyer dropped a few raw comments and was quite cocky. Courtney did not respond. But she had come prepared. Carefully and professionally, after handing out a few cases, she went through the law, what was relevant and what was not relevant. She then pointed out how certain cases applied to our custodial sutiuation. The Judge listened was nodding in agreement, then turned to our now not so cocky opposing lawyer who was now stuttering a response. Fantastic; Courtney did the job for both lawyers. The Judge gave her stern recommendation and we settled custody. Thank you Courtney!

Well I guess I owe Courtney a rating. Partially since it's probably my ex-wife's posts that are driving her down...
My experience with Courtney's extended across 2 legal firms, spanned 3 years, in one hell of an ongoing - never to end court process with a person who has serious mental health issues. While she's not always johnny on the spot when it comes to answering phones or emails - When it really is an emergency - she is there. (Sometimes those seeming emergencies really aren't in retrospect)
Even when she was off retainer, not representing me - she aided me in filing paperwork for a Queens Bench Protection order, application for custody change and many others. Between moral support, providing the orders that couldn't be found in the missing courthouse file, and pointing me in the correct directions - when lost navigating the insanity that is our court system.

DO NOT USE THIS LAWYER!! Stay far away. She does not work in the best interest of her clients. She tells you all the things she is going to do to help you, and then does nothing dragging out proceedings and not filing legal paperwork when she says she will. Bleeding you dry in the process. In the end, you have paid her tens of thousands of dollars, and no further along than you were when you started out with her. She doesn't return calls, doesn't file legal paperwork when she says she's going to, is not prepared in court, late for meetings or doesn't show up, and hides behind her assistant who makes excuses for her lack of presence. In the end you are exactly where you started. How she continues to have her license is beyond me.

Stay away from this lawyer. She tells you what you like to her but does absolutely nothing. Always late , misses hearings, no prepared, drags matters along, make you situation worse. Stay away from her.

Thinking people must have been paid to put these comments out here. Un-organized, not much experience, late for everything! Didn't do her research, cost me a ton of money and really signed a deal with the devil on my divorce. Got me in a worse mess than I could have imagined. Showed up for our final signing of divorce, was over an hour late, didn't even bring a binder with her!?!? Settled with no child support. RCA was at her house when I was there, after RCA left she proceeded to have a beer and ask me if I wanted one. Really??? When she showed up with no paper work, i just settled, no point taking this any farther, lost a significant amount of money, RRSP's,land deal and child support for 4 years. Then she wanted money fast or take me to creditors. Stay far from this one, can't say anymore. Other cases must have been simple, mine was land and business, she had no clue how to handle it. Glad my mess is over.

I was very fortunate to have had Courtney as a Lawyer, I had been trying for over a year to get my separation agreement else were, unfortunately I got scammed as he took all my money and left me with no separation agreement, Courtney came to my rescue and got me more that I could have asked for, she explained to me everything I needed to know, the good and the bad; I recommend her and believe me you will not be disappointed, I trust her and I know that she can get the job done at low cost and you will be very happy with her overall.

Courtney in a word is wonderful! Approachable, emphatic, attentive, accommodating, and most of all more than fair. The first lawyer I have dealt with in the last 30 years that I can label with all of these characteristics. I do not have one negative comment. I would very highly recommend Courtney for all of your needs. If you have the good fortune of having Courtney accept you as a client, you will definitely be in good hands. Love, love, love her!!

I switched lawyers part way into my lawsuit, choosing Ms. Thompson because i needed a barracuda fighting for me. Courtney went to work, fighting as if her own survival depended on it. I was very pleased with the final settlement through arbitration. Courtney worked hard for a a fast resolution and when all was signed and done, I knew I had picked the right lawyer.

with Courtney as my lawyer she had done more then most lawyers I think would have done... she would work after hours to cover my case and would have so much knowledge about what I need to do and where to go to get it done... she would show up and have all the questions done and handed over to other lawyers needed so that I didn't have to say anything. im glad to have here as a lawyer and think anyone with issues with family law should give her a call and she would help plus more

After a great deal of searching for a suitable attorney in dealing with my separation, divorce, and child advocacy struggles, I turned to Courtney for all my legal proceedings. Courtney was very easily accessible for advice and emergency ordeals and provided a great service to accommodate my families needs. After a financial struggle from the outcome of my divorce, Courtney made sure her services were still at a maximum level to ensure my needs were entirely met, and she was very understanding of the circumstances involved even after setting up a fiscal agreement. Courtney was great start to finish. Had excellent incite on all circumstances that came up. Comports herself with a dominant but charismatic presents inside and outside court. She was respectful, caring and honest. She is a very honourable women and extremely affective at getting the job done in a timely fashion . I would recommend to all.

couldn't have done this without her! always there when I needed her, followed through on everything I requested and got me out of this exactly where I needed to be. She takes time and urgent action when required. Very knowledgeable and helpful , she definately fought for me :)
