I would take the other comments with a grain of salt. People who are unhappy or don't get what they want will always find a way to blame someone else. Marie got into this profession to help, but there will always be people who dislike the outcome and blame the lawyer. Marie helped me through the hardest part of my life. I know she willing to give discounts to people who show they need the help and are deserving. Maybe she didn't answer emails as fast as I would like, but she has other clients and I am aware of that. If one client has a court date coming up, my file may be put on hold for a bit, and that's ok. She always makes sure to get back to me and I always felt important, even if my file was not a priority. There is a difference. At the end of the day, this is her career and she is trying to make money, as we all are, but she looks out for her clients.

After 2 and years fighting than one month before trial and all the money gone she quits blames me tells me my fault I married my wife 15yrs ago. All she is concerned about is her money I would never recommend her staff is good

I agree with the other person who was positive about Marie. I have been in an extremely difficult situation and Marie has worked very hard with me and on my behalf. The system has not been easy at all and she is caught in that as much as anyone else. She has been reassuring to me and her team has been great. She is busy so realistically, I don't expect answers immediately but I know she is getting the work done. She very much "gets" the abuse piece and is very empathetic while retaining the professionalism and getting the difficult job done. Her quality of work and the written court pieces are very very good and to the point.

Please please please NEVER USE THIS LAWYER!!! She took on my case as an "emergency" took my legal aid certificate the same day we first met and then never returned my many many calls or emails, she completely closed off and acted like I wasn't a client at all. My emergency situation has now gone for 5 months without any communication and when finally confronted in her office she was insanely rude and nasty and flat out lied about numerous things which were so obvious they were lies. For a lawyer who sits there while you are crying and says you have been so screwed by the legal system and i promise I'll fix it SHE CERTAINLY didn't!!! And now to top it off thinks she can keep MY legal documents i gave to her in our first meeting and refuses to let me have them to find a new lawyer! BEWARE!!! Do NOT trust this idiot!

I am stunned by the other reviews I saw here. Marie and her staff are knowledgeable and empathetic. Lawyers do cost a lot of money, and the system makes you do useless steps, all of which you have to pay your lawyer for, but I believe that Marie did everything she could to keep the costs down for me, and did a fantastic job all around. If a client couldn't afford to pay, the lawyer shouldn't have to do the work for free; shame on the person who gave a bad review because they ran out of money to pay the lawyer! And, Marie did everything she could to settle my case. It was the other lawyer and my ex who tried to bankrupt me by using the court system, and Marie who saved me!

I have never encountered a more disrespectful lawyer. She is rude and lies in correspondence. She is not interested in settling, she will continually litigate and create arguments when there is an obvious solution.
