Right from the beginning Mr. Maclellan surprised me. He was always available to answer questions for us. I am writing on behalf of my young brother to which his case was appointed to Mr MacLellan. The crime was committed shortly after he turned 18 and had some serious charges against him. As soon as I was informed of the situation, I came in contact with Mr. MacLellan. Being that I lived in another province, Mr. MacLellan made sure to update me with the details of the case, with the approval of his client (my brother), every step of the way. Statistically speaking, being a minority, my brother had high chances of getting harsh convictions. This is not a concern that we had shared with Mr. MacLellan but he was very much aware of that and ensure to advise his client of everything that needed to be done to avoid getting a criminal record. He partnered with us, the family, to make sure that my brother was supported and held accountable for the betterment of his future. We are 100% satisfied with his services. I would stay as far away from this so called criminal lawyer as you can. He is not regarded as a trusted colleague, you would be, nor would he be recommended by a colleague. Mention his name to other Ottawa lawyers and you will be greater with an eye roll, or head shake or even a "good lord man, what were you thinking hiring him. He never went over the disclosure statement with me, we never sat down to detail what evidence they had against me and on what direction we are going to play to win this case. All he did was insist I do community service hours and that will look good. He did not help me on where to go to do that. In the end I fired his a** and when I asked for a detailed statement of his services he replied if I did that, I would owe him thousands more. He's a boob. I lost my retainer fee for him doing nothing.

My particular case involved a DUI and Resist arrest charges. I was seriously considering the plea bargain presented to me by the crown. Luckily for me however, having the same last name as George, I met this great lawyer. After our first interaction I was convinced I had found a great Lawyer. He's confident, intelligent, has decades of experience to draw on and he's simply enjoyable to talk to. After he reviewed my case we spoke again. He'll give it to you straight, won't sugar coat it. I appreciate that. He describes his case defence structure and answered all my questions. He lifted a weight off my shoulders just knowing I had him in my corner. Once In court, he tore the crowns case apart. He turned their video evidence into my ticket out. In 2 hours of court proceedings, I was acquitted AND the crown attorney personally apologized for the officers' behaviour. I hope I never have to face trial again, but if that happens. I'm hiring Mr.Carey MacLellan again.. Thank you!

He took my Impaired's case when i didn't have anymore hope. he was always straight and honest told me the things i didn't want to hear.But I started to have hope again when i saw him in court how he tooks my Cases. He handel it well and always been rational.And for the price i thingh i couldn't aford another Lawyer.

He'd a mess. He prolonged my court processes by not handing in paper work to the crown. He doesn't consult his clients and overall he's a smug arrogant careless dump truck

From a public observer of the court rather than as an accused using his services: He seems like a very disorganized lawyer. The only thing he carries is his own agenda book. As well, he always seems to wander in-and-out of Remand court before speaking to his matters. Also, he seems to miss CPTs (Counsel Pre-Trials with the Crown) at times. And apparently won't do Bail Reviews.

Probably a good competent attorney but talks far too much, rambles on and is always "selling" his ability to help you out. On the administrative side, he's a nightmare, no records, changes his mind on rate and attempts to bill without any backup. He comes across as very unprofessional in his continuous self promotion and approach to billing for his services.
