KAREN IS A LIFE SAVER.
FROM THE INITIAL CALL I MADE PANICKING ABOUT THE POLICE CALLING MY BOYFRIEND, KAREN WAS ON IT. THE POLICE HAD A WARRANT FOR MY BOYFRIEND'S ARREST. WITHIN DAYS, KAREN WAS SPREAKING WITH THE CROWN WORKING ON GETTING MY BOYFRIEND'S CHARGES WITHDRAWN. AS MY BOYFRIEND AND I ANXIOUSLY WAITED, KAREN ALWAYS KEPT US UPDATED.

Salt of the earth/ Savior/ Resourceful are a few words I would use to describe Karen. From the minute I spoke to her I knew she was the right lawyer for me. Karen is a very knowledgeable and experienced lawyer. She is the epitome of a relentless advocate and has represented my family for a number of issues such as criminal allegations, family issues and GTHL hearings for releases and suspensions. Karen McArhur has been extremely resourceful and successful in defending me from very serious charge . She was my second lawyer. The previous one didn’t even consider the possibility of noncustodial sentence but Karen managed to put the facts of the charge into new perspective and through her tenacity she saved me from prison. I am a mother in Oshawa with adult 2 sons. In 2011 my eldest son, who is now in his late 30s, was charged due to a domestic altercation. My sister through a friend of hers highly recommended Karen and she more than lived up to the recommendation. As a victim of domestic violence, I was seeking a strong female criminal defense lawyer to help me to defend myself against a bogus charge brought forward by my abuser. I found this in Karen. I hired Karen in May of 2019, after being accused of an offence I did not commit. She believed in me from the start, and defended me with all her might. One might say, what does it matter that she believed in you, as long as you are paying her, and she is doing the job. Well it was important to me what she felt, and she portrayed to me throughout the proceedings, that she did just that, which in my opinion, made her fight that much harder then otherwise would have been the case, which I found out with my previous lawyer. Karen is on top of everything the moment it happens with any case she fights. Not all lawyers are created equally, Karen is top notch at whatever she does, and attacked my case head on. My case was also quite complex, and needed a special area of legal expertise, which Karen brought to the table when she represented me. I was always billed only what she worked on, and nothing more. Thanks to Karen, for all her hard work and hours of research, she always had my back.

I have never seen a more incompetent lawyer. She dragged my case to maximize profit, would always use her kids or friends as excuses or that she was in court constantly. I even suspect she colluded with opposing counsel. She didn’t help me in any way, but in the contrary added significant stress to an already very stressful legal dispute, I ended in the ER with an anxiety attack as of chasing her to try and get her to communicate and respond to my instructions and her promises. She completely lacked commitment, after requesting 12K upfront that I told her was a personal loan. Please unless you are a powerful, wealthy criminal, do not retain this unethical lawyer and person.

Karen was amazing. Couldn’t have asked for a more professional, knowledgeable and highly experienced lawyer. My son’s problem was solved in record time (69 days) from the date of the infraction. She worked so hard and so fast to ensure the charge was dismissed.

She the most poor lawyer that I've ever seen. Poor knowledge. Irresponsible. Always use her three kids as excuses to avoid meeting with us, always being late to attend the court. Yelling at us over the phone. We decided not to go with her and hired another lawyer. She is ridiculous. If you meet her at first place, she will always convince you to hire her. However, after you being bounded with her, you will experience a terrible story.

Her name, Karen McArthur, will forever be in our hearts and memories as the wild and crazy, out of the box go go girl that just whipped that December courtroom into shape. She created laughter in an otherwise very somber courtroom when she scoffed about the cop 'charging her with stalking if she kept calling him about her client's innocence'. And, my favorite, was when she asked the judge for two more months so that she could get this charge out of the court system as it did not belong there .... because, "This is the way I practice law, Your Honour", she said .... Karen, with her demanding presence, and cheeky words, actually brought an ear to ear smile to the Judge's face. Through sheer tenacity, hard work and belief in my husband's innocence, Karen got this bogus charge dropped. Karen .... we owe you so much and always will.
