Amazed at his incompetence. First the firm did not write my uncles will properly and admitted to that but the lawyer who wrote it had retired. Second Paul Read misinterpreted the will.Third I had trouble reaching him directly. Fourth, I emphasized I did not want any hard feelings with relationships to my deceased uncle, but did not feel someone hired to deal with my uncles effects was entitled to compensation at a high hourly rate. Instead of discussing that with me he directly told the individual involved in disposing of effects that I was unwilling to pay him a high hourly rate because he did such a poor job. Paul Read should NOT have discussed that with him and should have discussed it with me. He was both incompetent and unethical. When my uncle's house was sold Paul Read also procrastinated for months before allowing me access to the funds to distribute to the beneficiaries. My advice is stay away from Stiver Vale and especially from Paul Read.

Hired this lawyer to deal with two estate issues. He didn't do the full work we hired him for and as a result we suffered consequences financial and otherwise which required more legal expense. Asked him to take responsibility for the lack of follow through on why we hired him in the first place. He said no. So this is us following through. Find another lawyer.

Fits in at Stiver Vale just fine. Would not recommend this firm to my worst enemy.
