Said he could get me SO much more than I was being offered. But something seemed off so I had a consult with a top Ontario lawyer, she said I'm not getting more than they offered. Rod wanted $2k upfront, total 8-10k in legal fee's. Go elsewhere!

Easily the worst experience I've had with any lawyer.
General attitude is that I'm doing him a favor by working with him
Communication was terrible - 0 communication for a week leading up to my closing, no response to multiple follow-ups emails, texts, and calls marked URGENT
Due to the missed week of no work on the file, issues that should have been caught early caused us to miss our closing.
Consistently late for every meeting and missed deadlines with no apology, just shifting blame when addressed
Corporate clerk couldn't answer basic questions regarding family trust
Major material errors made in setting up various corporate documents despite accurate documented directions
Took an angry and threatening tone when the issues with punctuality, communication, and accuracy of work were brought up. Shifted blame, refused to acknowledge any of it
Threatened to take legal action (libel and slander) if I were to publicize my experience as I am here
Avoid at all costs

Hi turn over of staff, talks a good game but never delivers, waste of time, money and effort on my part.They Lost part of my file. The only time he calls you back is when you threaten him with your calling the bar to file a complaint. Only this time I will.He is supposed to give you an annual report of money spent and on what. Took the money cash, and no reporting. grounds right there.

The service was fast and efficient. Who wants to be in a lawyer's office any longer than they have to. I am very satisfied with the service I received here.

I worked with Refcio & Associates for the sale of my home, and as an agent I have also referred many clients for their real estate transactions. Rod and his staff are professional, courteous, and attentive. Rod goes above and beyond by offering the convenience of after hours appointments at the client's home or office for the signing of documents. They offer very competitive rates as well. After using Refcio & Associates for my real estate transaction, I asked about his fee for a Will Kit (and Power of Attorney) for my parents. Turns out that he offered the best price that I could find (all prices posted on his website!). Again, the service was professional, timely and offered great value. Both my parents and now I have completed our wills/POAs through his law firm. Wonderful staff, too. Highly recommend for quality service at very reasonable prices.

Rod Refcio has guided me through all my legal needs: real estate transactions, incorporation and estate planning. At all times, he is pleasant, professional and acts in my best (financial) interests. He has never charged for phone call, email or txt msg correspondence and his fees are the lowest I've seen for any lawyer. All his staff are courteous and professional. DO NOT use for Sale/Purchase of a home! They do not communicate with you or the lawyer acting on the other end of the transaction. They don't send out documents or answer phone calls, we have never received original documents needed, and when you do get a hold of someone they are absolutely rude and unprofessional. Not worth the "deal" you get, will never use again!

OMG My family has been trying to close the sale of the family home to my son and his wife for months now. I have had to come to London from North Bay (an 11 hr return drive) 3 times. Rod even scheduled a pre-apt. 2 wks ago. He never once told us what the apt. was for. We knew that the bank did not have all the paperwork to his firm, so WE canc.this apt. on our own. No phone call, nothing to say where we are at!! When to meet again, nothing from his firm!! Wow, So my kids called again after the bank had sent them the paperwork and the hundreds of thousands to close the deal. OMG another week delay. I am sic at this point of the drive, so I had to hire a lawyer up north, hoping that they were able to send my part up here. They did last Thursday and I was able to sign on my end. Mr. Orlando, North Bay, and his amazing team were able to help me 3 day's after my first call to them. So this is done. Well not good enough. MORE bs STALL PAPERWORK on their end!!! Still not CLOSED!!!

Met Rod for his 'free consultation' and paid his retainer for some work to be done. As it turned out the seller was also Rod's client. I advised Rod I was not certain I would use him as he was representing both parties. Upon requesting a refund as I did in fact use a different lawyer...it took many many requests for a refund. The refund was shorted for unknown or approved work. Rod was very unprofessional in ignoring my communications and unethical in my mind for withholding my funds for such a long period of time without any replies.

Rod has been my Lawyer for over 6 years - I run a small business which is a franchise. He has consistently provided us with quality legal services and excellent advice in helping my business to grow. I can cal Rod at any time of the day and will get an answer!
