Absolutely the worst of the worst some lawyers have morals this one only cares about herself and will encourage more conflict more litigation more billing more than 10 years she encouraged my ex to fight with me and never submit. Why? It was not not in the best interest of the child but in the best interest of her billing eventually my son ran away from the mother came to me and never went back good work joanne never at any point did she suggest or encourage my ex to try to settle that speaks for itself !! Stay away from this one trust me my experience is fast with her she’s a bottom feeder a scumbag the worst of the worst even if you’re desperate for a lawyer never use her

La pire avocate. Menteuse. Liar!! She will lie to the juge. I was her client and instead of helping she asked me to make complaints against my ex with the police. I regret everything. My ex did not deservw it. Elle est une manipulatrice. Horrible human been

Me Cousineau was a pleasure to work with. She is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of family law. She is open to input but will not sugarcoat and will definitely give you clear information and a realistic path to the best possible outcome based upon your situation. I don’t often give reviews but after reading some of the negative reviews on this site, I had to include my positive recommendation. I think many people only write reviews to complain if things haven’t gone their way in court. Me Cousineau was professional, prepared, truthful and tenacious and I would highly recommend her to anyone I call a friend.

The worst lawyer in Gatineau area. She has unethical behavior , rude and has a bad discriminatory behaviour. She lies to court, even if she represented me I regret it. I let her lied to the justice and Judge. She manipulated me; she accuses other people with false statements. She likes to play bad games. I cant believe no one have done anything against this liar.

Comes off as someone who is genuinely out for your best interest, then tries to persuade you into complicating the matter in order to rack up the bill. Following that, she stopped answering e-mails, phone calls or returning messages. After multiple attempts to reconnect with her, I had no choice but to seek alternate representation. She finally sends me an e-mail asking for "news on my file" after I'd sent her multiple updates, and when I told her I was left with no choice but to find someone else to help me with my divorce, she sends me an e-mail with an invoice for an exorbitant amount for having accomplished absolutely nothing for me. I feel phished (she was a recommendation from another lawyer) and entirely taken advantage of. She is fully aware of my situation yet blatantly disregarded me and my circumstances through her incredibly unprofessional conduct. I absolutely implore anyone seeking the HELP of a lawyer to stay far, far away from this woman.

Horrible lawyer, don't waste your time and money, she will screw you in any way shape or form that she can and all she cares about is billable hours. Most of all the positive reviews written here are for sure written by herself. It's funny how 5 in a row are all in January '17 back to back with a lot of the same wording lol. The negative reviews posted here are exactly how she is, by far the worst lawyer imaginable! You will be sorry if you chose her!!

I have read some of the comments on this site. I was amazed at some of the critiques about Joanne Cousineau. I could not disagree more. although I wish I would have a better judgement, she was right on with her management of my expectation.. Joanne explained everything in details, prepared us with what wasgoing to take place in court, managed our expectations, told me not to hope for the sky but to stay grounded. I saw her files and I was amazed at all preparation and case law she found. In my opinion, she is the very best at what she does. I could not recommend her more. If you want someone that will tell you the truth, manage your expectations and get you exactly what you deserve then she's the one.

Absolutely first rate. Goes way above and beyond the call of duty. Takes the time to explain parts that are harder to understand for us common folk. Extremely smart, dedicated, driven and relentless. Knows her stuff like no other. I and my partner had a recent case and are 110% satisfied with the way she dealt with / represented us. I used Joanne for my divorce in 2012. She was very knowledgeable in my case. She did a little research, then informed me of how she should proceed, and what it would cost. She was bang on with her cost estimate, and perfect in her handling of the case. She explained each step, to ensure I understood perfectly. She is awesome at what she does. Joanne Cousineau is one of the finest lawyers you will ever meet. Her experience, knowledge, and skills are flawless. During my case she was informative, dedicated, hardworking, and incredibly organized. She is also very passionate and takes her job seriously. Joanne always took the time to explain steps and procedures when I did not understand. When going through a divorce and children are involved it is extremely important that you feel confident about the person that represents you. Stay away from this lawyer! Talks up a big game but does nothing! You will be weeks, even months without news of her! 2 weeks before my court date, she said we would meet up to go over everything...i had absolutly no news of her until less than 20 hours before my court appearence! Once in court, some of my statements got rejected because she hadnt deposited some of the proof (she had told me she did).She reprensented me so horribly, she worsened my situation instead of making it better!
