Margot has been fantastic in helping me deal with the family law process and my separation. She handled my case with compassion and professionalism. She always took the time to explain and communicate everything to me which would put my mind at ease. There were times when I wanted to back down, but she always kept focus and fought for my best interest/intentions. When one goes through a life changing event such as a separation they look for guidance and clarification, and Margot provided both. Her skills, knowledge and caring nature were a blessing. I don't know where I would be today if I didn't have Margot in my corner. Thank you Margot...... Dave C

Margot is a very professional and knowledgeable lawyer. She not only kept me up to date about the progress of my case but also educated me about family law and court system throughout the process. She always helped me set reasonable expectations about my case but rendered a lot more than expected on my behalf based on her knowledge. She helped me reach an agreement which is truly satisfying and was a result of her family law knowledge and professional skills only. She never missed any court due date and always communicated through emails which is another proof of her professionalism.
I would recommend her to anyone looking for a capable, knowledgeable, honest and professional family law attorney.

Margot represented me back in the spring of 2014. I was 100% satisfied. She is a straight shooter.....doesn't "sugar coat" anything. She prepared me for what could happen, which did bring me to tears. But she was honest and I thank her so much for that. Never did I feel she was dragging anything out to earn more money, because she didn't. She arrives at court just prior to the appointed time, which is what I hired her for. She didn't have me paying money to sit and chat. Paying for a divorce isn't fun for anyone. I'm shocked at the few reviews so far. Perhaps the outcome would have been the same for these people and Margot is getting the blame. It would probably have been the same no matter which lawyer was hired! And, human nature, we are more likely to complain than compliment. Margot came highly recommend and didn't disappoint. She is well respected and very smart! Gail was a gem to work with. I have recommended Margot to others, and they loved her as well!

If you got lots of money to blow she'll take it until its gone I didn't trust her but I was too far into it when I realized she was ripping me

All I wanted was a couple of simple divorcemate calculations. She requested my whole file and I gave her everything I had. I'm self represented. After 11 days of leaving messages and inquiring about my file I went in on my filing deadline date to find out she did absolutely nothing! Her assistant I was talking to the whole time was always inquring about if I had paid yet. Why wouldn't I pay? She had my whole file hostage. Now I go to court without any calculations. If she didn't want to do the calculations I should have been told like 10 days ago. Or 9 or 8 etc so I could find a lawyer with better integrity!

When she represented me in a divorce transaction it was like she was representing my wife. It was also her recommendation to use the Ontario Childrens Lawyer process that kept me from seeing my children for a year. Once we parted ways and I represented myself the divorce transaction moved along quite quickly. Unfortunately I had paid her $25,000 over 2 yrs that accomplished little or nothing. No decisions had been rendered and I still did not even have an access agreement settled and it seemed like she was trying to steer me into giving my wife sole custody when the outcome of the OCL interrogation was that if my wife didn't shape up that she would be losing access to our children. It seemed to be her goal to keep us in court which in total cost my family $50,000 in assets. At the end of it all I settled with my wife and her lawyer for the same amount as I offered her 3 years previously.
