This is the most dispicable ruthless lying POS anyone could hire in my view and opinion. She made it so my daughter was left with a drunk and drug addict and left here there to fend for herself while she lies to the courts telling them how great she was doing when she was on the streets homeless, drug addicted and cutting herself. She was isolated fr every single family member and the step mother who Julie was a big fan of told my baby that next time she cuts into herself to use a rusty blade. We had a 12000 custody and access report prepared by Dr Burma who stated the father was abusive and narcissistic and thinks he's from another planet. Knowing this Julie convinced the court the test results got mixed up. My daughter suffered because Julie only cared about 1 thing. Winning at all costs. I would never recommend this POS. I would never trust her to be fair or honest. She never had my child's best interest at heart and for her to be left with vulnerable children is a disgrace.

This lawyer is so much more than the rating of "good". Julie Donati holds credentials and experience beyond many in her field. She shares a wealth of knowledge around the Family Law system. As Ms. Donati's client, I have found her representation to be strong, clear, fair and accurate. Her attention to detail served my case immensely. She answered my questions and clarified when I had an incorrect interpretation of the law. Ms. Donati encouranged me to co-parent and communicate in a way that put the children's needs first and suggested areas that I could make improvements that would create more unity. During trial Ms. Donati's attention to detail and pre-trial prep helped relieve any worries or stress I had around sitting in the witness stand. I found her to be friendly and respectful with her colleagues. Overall if you have a complicated case and you're looking for representation that pays attention to detail and puts your children's needs at the forefront Julie Donati is your person!

This lawyer has had numerous complaints made against her from her own client's and opposing counsels clients. She has a nickname in the Victoria legal community of Julie Donation as she has to rely on legal aid cases to get client's because her reputation is so terrible. There is a long history of false allegations that have been documented in many of her cases which have led people to believe that she might be influencing clients to make false allegations against opposing parties. Her reviews speak for themselves and I would recommend that if you feel that this lawyer has acted unprofessionallylythat you make a formal complaint to the BC Law society. https://www.lawsociety.bc.ca/complain... As I dasaid before she has already had many complaints and hopefully she will not be practicing law for much longer as she has no respect for the practice of law and she is not benefiting anyone with her unethical practices.

I had a brief meeting with Ms. Donati through family duty counsel. My situation is fairly simple, seeking a transition from a 3 night 4 night to a 2 night 5. I explained it clearly, and simply and spent ten minutes listening to her try and figure out what was being asked and then told I was incorrect. I then spent the rest of that time being talked down to, talked over, given out of date/incorrect information unrelated to my questions my situation. I also had to listen to a great deal of sexist talk, regarding my gender (as a father). Overall. I felt the call was terribly unprofessional.

Ms. Donati incites and blows up issues that cost you, as her client more money. She works hard to find reasons to keep a matter, or issue stirred up so it costs you more money and she makes more. In the end, you as the client not only get hurt, but if there is children involved , causes emotional harm to the family/ children by stringing matters along. Don’t use this lawyer!

I find that Ms. Donati is highly professional and efficient working with clients. I noticed that she is open to feedbacks in a timely manner and is able to utilize her knowledge and expertise fluidly and professionally. I find that Ms. Donait carries a warm and generous personality that helps clients feel confident and valued. I strongly believe that her presence holds a meaningful space for many people in the community.

I cheated on my wife. She alienated my kids from me. I was recommended Julie by a business partner of mine who was very happy with her work. I walked into Julies office and offered her $50K to take down my wife. Julie gave me 2 names of other lawyers that would be happy to take my money and showed me the door . She said If I wanted to put my kids first she would consider me as a client. I didn't want to hear it and went elsewhere I spent $20K quickly and got no where and got court costs tacked on top. Julie and I set out a plan that included counselling for me it took 18 months and the kids are with me now every week. At every step Julie kept me focused on my kids. Julie did not back down in court and was not intimidated by my wife's Lawyer. Her fees were reasonable. We had complicated business and property issues that were resolved without too much stress I would highly recommend Julie she actually saved me a bunch of money because we focused on the long run.

In my opinion over priced and unable to listen to what the client is saying. On several occasions promised to take care of an extremely complicated issue. Came to court very well prepared in terms of documentation but did not speak when the other party was blatantly lying and was not tenacious. In the end I paid for time and advice that set me back a great deal while the other party was able to get everything they had requested.

Saw her once five years ago, when she told me I should be grateful and to leave things as they were, as I was receiving more support than the law required my ex to pay. However that 'payment' decreased dramatically in the coming years and I suffered badly for the lack of support and professional advice. Later when I returned to have her actually legalise matters, it took over four months of NOTHING getting done before I finally moved on to someone else. The limited amount of correspondence my ex's lawyer received, was apparently sparse at best and lacked relevant detail.In the end my ex owes over $20,000 in child support which he has withheld, threatening if I went after child support arrears he would go after current value of the house which he has not paid into for 5 yrs. Had I been properly advised I would have had the proper amount of child support and would have had this behind me way sooner. Julie is kind and non-intimidating, but overall just didn't get the job done.

Julie is lucky to have a great assistant to keep her on track. It dragged for ever, cost me over ten thousand to get somewhat of an agreement signed but not filed in court because of opposing lawyer not filing his client's financials... When I asked about it to try to get things moving, the answer was "you don't want to push this since you will most likely end up paying child support". Well I now changed lawyer and things are done...
