I retained Kevin after retaining two previous lawyers. My ex-partner is very difficult and stalled for four years! When I hired Kevin, I was beat down, tired and was not too keen on paying more money that seemed to go nowhere. However, I knew to protect my daughter and myself, I needed an agreement. Kevin accompished in five months what my previous lawyers were unable to achieve in three years. We were on the brink of trial. Kevin was prepared, always responsive and understood how to work with difficult and controlling behaviors, as well as navigating domestic violence. He managed to help me avoid trial and actually got the agreement signed! I appreciate his time, energy and ability to facilitate what was a very difficult and awful process. Yes, he is expensive, but if I would have hired him first I likely would have saved thousands. I appreciate you, Kevin! A thousand "thank yous" are not enough!

We had this con artist handle our case years ago, and he was horrible on every level. Our family is still suffering bcos of the completely dreadful terms, with no guarantee, that he laid out. Our kids are still suffering because of the imbecilically bad deal he practically bullied us, his own clients, into taking. Expensive, incredibly arrogant, and incompetent. And now apparently he has failed upwards to make partner at a firm. Incredible.

I retained Kevin a couple years ago and my only regret is that I didn’t retain him first. He is a true professional and knowledgeable lawyer. He will quickly develop a road map for you and get it done. He is very accessible and always find the time to talk with his clients. I also truly appreciate how calculated his approach is and how relevant he is when he speaks in front of a judge. His deep knowledge of his customer’s file really comes handy in a tight situation. His ability to stay calm and provide a rational assessment in any situation is simply priceless. If you are looking for a professional league caliber lawyer, then Kevin is your man.

I was a stay at home Mom for 15 years. I ended up with barely enough support to pay our rent. Every court appearance was worse than the one before. Ex is a narcissist, seemed to be more then my lawyer could handle. Ex has been able to weasel his way out of everything in the divorce agreement , the agreement that I felt forced to sign.

I had Kevin assist me with a settlement with my Wife of 35 years . I working all that time and my wife not working. Large incomes and assetsinvolved My original meeting was with Steven Durbin, who came in with full ceremonial garb LOL, and then I was handed off to Kevin. He seemed very young and I was rather nervous, all without cause as it turned out . There was enough at stake to turn this into a 2 very large legal bills . The opposing Lawyer was a barracuda. Kevin was able to guide me into the reality of my situation , and many people I have spoken with were impressed at the minimal damage on the legal bills . Kevin was amazing and was a great coach for me through all . and I will use him next time LOL

Kevin Caspersz and his team was retained by me to deal with a most complicated and difficult common law case against my GF. let me tell you, this firm is rated no 1 for good reason. Kevin, with his cool, calm and collected approach was able to deliver. I thought I had no way out and this guy made it happen, and the way I wanted it. I would recommend Kevin and his firm to anyone. Two years ago, I hired the first lawyer that I could find believing my matter was a straight forward legal separation. It was the worst mistake I ever made. It turned into a high conflict legal mess and I spent tens of thousands in court with no results. With trial less than two months away, I interviewed over a dozen different lawyers, but most were intimidated. I even hired a well-rated lawyer, who ended up being intimidated by my ex’s lawyer and quit. About to give up, I called Stephen Durbin and Associates and met Kevin Caspersz and his team (a dynamite, brilliant legal team). They worked tirelessly and the first time I felt well-represented and very prepared. In court, Kevin was spectacular before the judge who had always ruled against me. For the first time my ex did not get her way and left court rattled. Kevin gave me the results no one else could deliver – full custody of my children. I retained Mr Caspersz services for approximately two and a half years. I was mostly pleased with his motion materials and his attention to detail which is crucial in high conflict matters. When providing me information in regardless to my matter he would give it to me straight good or bad, this allowed me to properly navigate my next move which was one of the key factors that helped provide me with the final judgment I was looking for. I would highly recommend retaining his services or at the very least booking an initial consultation you will not be sorry. Lastly I would also recommend you requesting Claire Quigley to assist Mr Caspersz she was a big reason for my successful outcome.

Kevin Caspersz is professional, approachable & personable. He was accessible & always made time for me, even leaving a meeting to speak with me when I arrived without an appointment. He was tenacious but professional even when opposing counsel was not. He was skilled & detail oriented. His calm demeanour, in the high stress situation of negotiations, was comforting which kept me composed. He took the time to explain many aspects of my case & walked me through the process of court & mediation. I found his thinking to be innovative & it was that which allowed us to arrive at a satisfactory conclusion. I now rest assured that my daughter’s financial future is secure. I too paid for very expensive letters to go back & forth between us and opposing counsel but that is just an unavoidable part of the legal process. Using a top tier law firm is expensive. When entering into a legal situation you must realize that it will be time consuming, frustrating, expensive and emotionally draining.

Caspersz encourages clients to write positive reviews at the outset of the matter. Having scammed them, he makes a retreat. He blamed me for not following the same route which he had ignored in favor of letters. His preferred way of copying my emails often verbatim frequently resulted in even the pronouns remaining unchanged. No results.

Kevin and Claire did a great job with my divorce. Opposing counsel was very aggressive, unreasonable and even tried to mount underhanded legal attacks on my extended family. Kevin handled what could’ve turned into a very messy situation very well was able to force opposing counsel to be reasonable. He certainly did not allow them to dictate the resolution of the matter. Although his fees were on the pricier side, I feel he protected mine and my family’s interests very well. I would feel comfortable recommending Kevin and his team to anyone looking for effective no-nonsense representation.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. He proved more stressful than my actual partner. He constantly berated me for asking the most basic things (such as contacting opposing counsel), refused to mediate and ONLY wanted to take it to court where he was completely subdued. I later contacted other lawyers who were shocked with how he handled a straightforard case. I tried to trust him and assumed his nastiness was just part of the job. Not only was he unprofessional but he actively betrayed me, badmouthing me to the opposite counsel DURING THE CASE. He charged me even while making basic mistakes. i trusted him with intimate stuff and he completely threw me under the bus for his own career.

My brother has already written a review below, however I wish to add to it after hearing some surprising things from several other lawyers I have consulted since. They went over email correspondence, the separation agreement, things he had told me on the phone (e.g. ask my ex H whether he was still using his lawyer or not, and asking him to submit a form stating he was not). Every lawyer I consulted told me in no uncertain terms that this was unethical, that there is protocol to follow and the client is not meant to ask these things but it is the lawyer who takes initiative and request the info. The formulation of the separation terms were also said to be conducive only to further conflict, as well as some other advice I had been told. I want to amend my previous good rating and mention this. I was told that his approach complicated things and gave my Ex H avenues to keep hurting me. This man always scared me to death, which is also something to consider depending on your personality.

While he was not without his merits, and seemed honest and sincere, we were overall less than satisfied with Kevin Caspersz. His harsh "bedside manner" did nothing to ease the situation and put his client, my sister, on the verge of a mental breakdown to the extent she worried as much about her meetings with him as her former husband. while he was clearly competent. I also think we could've had a better deal, but not many complaints there since the situation was fluid. His clerk Claire Atkinson did not help, and after we decided to end our service with them she put salt on the wound by making false accusations against her former client my sister - who struggles to be harsh to her own former husband -that she had been rude when she had been quite the opposite, and then doubling down after my sister apologized to her for any perceived slight.

I strongly disagree with the comments below. For I have been in lengthily 2 year court battle and can say that Kevin is a very honest, approachable and knowledgeable lawyer. He is highly dependable. He does a thorough job on his files as well works hard to get you what YOU want!!!! I would certainly recommend him to others he’s a Doberman in court and doesn’t settle until he wins for the best interest of his clients :)

I had used the Durbin team before and was very pleased with them so I felt confident when Caspersz was assigned to represent me.I couldn't have been more wrong to feel this way.His knowledge is apparently so poor that he charged me large sums of money to "research" basic points of family law which I myself was already familiar with!He sent me many unnecessary emails,most of which were less than a paragraph long,some a mere sentence and pretended that it had taken him hours to write these emails and then, of course, billed me accordingly.He even charged me approximately $3000 just to FIRE him.To top it off he has an extremely arrogant,unsympathetic demeanor.One wants to feel that one's lawyer is on their side but every contact I had with this shyster made me lose faith in the strength of my case which turned out to be a slam dunk in my favour once I got a different lawyer.Do not hire this man.He will rip you off too.Hire another from Durbin but not this man. Worst lawyer ever.

Kevin has very little family law experience. He "Sells" himself as having litigation experience to make up for his lack of experience wit family law but is terrible in court. He is quiet and very timid with judges. He is very good at billing and prides himself on keeping accurate records of his time but who can tell. He spent a lot of my money doing "research". Very expensive. I would not recommend Kevin

Kevin is extremely intelligent and articulate, beyond the realm of Family Law, which was the main reason we retained him for my father's divorce. He works hand in hand with his associate, Claire Atkinson who is also a consummate professional. This is a good and bad thing, given that everything gets looked at twice and charged accordingly. Each statement is broken down with the hours for both parties. This situation, unfortunately, made us feel that our costs were excessive given the 'straightforward' separation-ie no kids. House was sold, money was easily tracked and traced. We feel that for the most part we had to do the leg work, as most emails ended with the phrase, 'provide direction'. At the end of the day, hiring a Family Lawyer with Kevin and Claire's experience (and fees) should be reserved for the most acrimonious cases. Fees to settlement were over 50K, without going to court. You better have deep pockets, but if you need the big guns, they can help.

Although I have not yet resolved my divorce and property settlement yet, Kevin has been there for me 100%. His performance in court was brilliant in my very difficult case. His attention to detail is proven in his correspondence, document preparation and knowledge of the law. I feel like I am in very capable hands. He works with me on all aspects of the case and provides very clear and informative advice. He is engaged and willing to go the distance no matter the opposition. Contrary to the above reviews, I had a horrible experience. I set out to be fair, I warned Kevin that my ex was a salesman, very manipulative and aggressive. He assured me that I had a good case..however he spent most of my money on emails then said I had a good case if I had gone to court. He originally told me to try to settle with the exchange of an email, and if it didn't work we would go straight to court. Last minute, he changed his mind...Almost $20,000.00 on emails??? Seriously. I spent all my money fighting for an additional three years of support that I originally had but lost because my ex is a sneaky manipulative liar. If I went to court... I had a better case?? Makes me sick. I set up FRO, gave him the good connection I made...which is hard to find. I corrected so many of his emails. He called me by the name of my ex's lawyer in one email.? Really...all he cares about is $$$ and billable hours for Stephen Durbin. I would steer clear of this law firm. Don't waste your $$.

Though the case has yet to be fully resolved this is a very good lawyer who explains everything in a very precise manner, leaving no room for doubts. If you are in a difficult divorce with a manipulative person, this is a great person to help. He always answers everything as soon as possible, leaving no room for doubt. If you are Losing focus he always brings it back into perspective and all of it centers around what's best for the kids. Also eloquent and perceptive. My family and I are very grateful with his and Claire Atkinson's work, their perfect handling of urgent situations involving kids that could easily have gone out of control. Already tension is minimized which kids can sense, just because they kept things from going crazy.

I used this law firm for my divorce. TERRIBLE service. Kevin Caspersz should just be fired. He is arrogant, no empathy what so ever and all he wants is to collect money. He did the proceedings for my long divorce and at the end i still ended up with the short end if the stick! Kevin nor the law firm have taken accountability for their wrong doing. They were to do what was best for both parties but Kevin Caspersz was too busy just collecting money! I do not recommend this law firm ot lawyer! Beware! Look elsewhere and your final results will be better!
