I retained Travis a year into a nasty separation after receiving very poor representation from a different lawyer. He was a lifesaver, working tirelessly to turn the tide. Separation involving children is a nightmare I wouldn't wish on anyone but if you find yourself in the thick of it I cant recommend him enough. Travis was my lawyer on a personal injury matter and did a phenomenal job of making sure I had seen the right doctors and had everything documented appropriately. He was phenomenal at both his job and keeping my own spirits up. Travis took over my personal injury case from another lawyer. Prior to Travis coming on board things had been progressing slowly over several years. Travis was incredibly proactive in getting things done. He far exceeded my expectations in his attention to my case, his communication, and his speed at getting results. It was only a matter of weeks after he took over that everything was resolved and Travis got me a higher sum than I had expected. Travis is very knowledgable, but takes care to explain his reasoning in ways that a layperson can understand. He also is enthusiastic about his job, which further instills confidence, because people who love their job always achieve at a higher level. Although he was unable to help in our situation, he explained the legal reasons why very clearly, and ensured we understood why proceeding was not the best choice in our case. His manner was pleasant and thoughtful, and I enjoyed his dry sense of humour. Note that I gave him 3's on some responses on the Likert scale because I can't rate him in those areas as we didn't proceed.

I just wanted a reasonable lawyer, but every time the opportunity came up to settle our case Mr. Bissett had a reason why I should do something different. I think it was because he was aware of my financial circumstances and knew I could afford to fight. I felt I was lead down a path that only resulted in more fees for his office and more stress for me. I could have just used the huge fees he charged and just settled my case instead....I think I would have been far happier and better off in the long run. He fought hard - but I think he also unnecessarily created reasons to fight.

I approached Travis to work on my personal injury file because I was not getting anywhere with the adjusters myself. Simply, they were not responding to me. Once I chose to hand over my file to Travis and his staff, I was able to focus more on getting better than dealing with an insurance company. My father has Alzheimer's and was hit on his mobility scooter in an intersection. Travis Bissett was referred to us by my father's lawyer. Travis was up front and stated he wouldn't waste our time if he couldn't do better for us than the insurance company would offer us directly. I had been to several lawyers before meeting Travis and had even paid a retainer to another one but it seemed like they didn't really want to work for me and that they wanted to do what they thought was best. Travis was amazing. We talked extensively about my options for custody arrangements and he made sure I was well educated and then told me it was my decision and he would work with me to accomplish my goals. He did what every other lawyer said was impossible and worked himself out of a job very quickly just like he said he would. I could not be more impressed with the professionalism and the knowledge and genuine caring that Travis displayed.
