Beware of this lawyer, retained by me Feb. '23 fired in May '24 By the terrible experience I endured retaining this firm, I can tell you they will provide you with the terms of retaining his services IN WRITING ...and then will later contradict or go back on those terms that were previously established. He also provided me with ludicrous advice that indicated he did not listen to what I said. He or the lawyer working under his employ, will also "turbo-charge" you...Make repeated inquiries on points you previously discussed and was previously verified by them. Either the lawyer under his employ was making deliberate attempts to increase billing or she had a short memory or was simply not intelligent enough to retain information I previously provided, that they previously confirmed. I voiced a complaint about this lawyer to the Law Society of Ontario that only indicated the Fox is watching over the Henhouse...Its difficult to get justice by those who claim they govern Ontario Lawyers

For some reason, de Vries seems to censor reviews by real clients that do not support their slick marketing. I made the mistake of believing Justin's self promotion & he quickly turned it over it to his' jr ptnr' & jr to tune of +$4k for 1st meeting. He 'talked the talk' but delegated all to his jr, a very sordid estate case with uncivil discourteous unprofessional opposing counsel, which demanded experienced confident counsel. Jr ptnr was not able to deal with them effectively & when tragedy struck & they were told their client, the estate t'tee's daughter had brain injury & they needed time, nothing was done to help & when she horribly, tragically & unexpectedly died, there was no compassion, no advocacy & they quit after rendering a >19k bill for letter that client wrote. Learned-don't trust slick marketing, look for real reviews by recent clients or ask for recommendations from people that you can interview & trust. Check all claims made carefully, like any other consumer service
