Completely unfit for family arbitration. This arbitrator rewarded abusive behavior with 50/50 parenting time and joint decision-making, ignoring clear evidence of control, emotional harm, and financial imbalance. She failed to enforce child support or Section 7 expenses, leaving the safe parent—me—responsible for everything. Her decisions are late, filled with errors, and show clear bias in favor of the father. Submissions are dismissed, questions are met with condescension, and communication is consistently rude. Her process has caused immense harm and allowed ongoing abuse through legal means. She is not neutral, not child-focused, and should not be handling family matters. Proceed with extreme caution.

Stay away from this lawyer. She soaked us 25 grand representing our daughter in a divorce action and accomplished zero. Do not be fooled by the kind elderly lady routine. Just check out how many firms she has worked for.

Elise represented me in a very contentious divorce. She did her job well, though the opposing lawyer was so bad the judge threatened to disbar her, so maybe Elise wasn't really good, it was just an easy case. When the trial wrapped up all that was left was to file the divorce agreement for a cost, according to Elise of $1200. We won, 100% custody. However, Elise and her office DMH&J refused to give me the divorce document unless I paid over $5,000 in additional unspecified fees. They were never able to provide details of the expenses, but they used it as what felt like blackmail to get sign off on my divorce. Highly unethical lawyer and law firm.

We got to know Elise 6 or 7 years ago when she mediated a legal issue between me and my ex-wife. She was great and even did a lot of work for me at no charge. Don't believe all the negativity you see here about Elise as she is very kind, generous and a great source of information. I would recommend her to anyone.

She is not only knowledgeable but extremely ethical, not cheap but if you have to deal with crazy exes and bad lawyers she's worth every penny

Elise claimed to be an expert in collaborative family law, but did not make any constructive effort to collaborate with the other side and work through the concerns they had. She is not a detailed oriented person and frequently missed dates for specific deliverable she had agreed to in advance. Her excuses were always either a personal emergency or she was in court. The latter fact was a clue that collaboration was not her forte. She would remain silent, even after a due date had passed, and simply wait for me to ask what was happening, and then bill me for asking. My only positive comment is that when she did actually do something, the price was reasonable, but you get what pay for. I would not recommend this lawyer.

I have a serious concern that Elise is promoting her self on her page that she has extensive experience in family violence on her page. I can personally confirm and guarantee you that this is far from reality. As a result that Elise did not put value and recognition on the abuse that the children and I were experiencing, she failed to provide us any protection and lacked to represent my case. With the result that the the children and I, ongoing continue to live the abuse. For you own protection, please if you are leaving an abusive relationship, do not hire Elise Levign! I do not wish anyone to experience what I have experienced.
