I asked "Matt" to work on two debt cases. I paid up front what he asked. In the first case, he missed the court date, and a default judgment was issued against me. When I notified him of this (he never noticed), he had the judgment set aside.
In the second case, he missed 5 court dates, finally the judge declared me in default because my attorney never showed up. When I found this out, he dragged out his responses over five months, and then let me know that he would like to withdraw from my case and had no interest in trying to get the judgment set aside. Terrible representation, terribly unprofessional (always smelled of cigs and alcohol), and completely unethical.
