DO NOT hire Joey! I wish I would have really paid attention to the bad reviews. He is unethical. He is a liar, and he will cheat you out of your time and money. He talks a good game, but once he has your money, the story changes. He doesn't do his job but feels like he is entitled to keep your money! Even with an arbitration order telling him to return your money, he will find a way to weasel out of it. He does what he wants,when when he wants,but his 90 days are over!! Please do your research on him. Start by going to the Chatham County Court site.
You think you can wrong people and get away with it, but you are sadly mistaken. I'm taking you back to court and the next time I have to leave a review, I am going to post all court documents.

Mr. Turner is the Best Lawyer I have ever hired. My Son was facing 4 felonies and 67 years in prison for acting out one day and Mr.Turner got him out of jail, 10 years probation, 2000 fine and 1 Felony.I will recommend Mr.Turner to anyone that needs an Attorney. Mr. Turner did a fantastic job and I will always be Thankful for what he did for my Son and gave my Son a Second Chance to live his life productively and Our Family is So Grateful that Mr. Turner was there to help us with the Best Outcome we could have ever received. Stay away from this lawyer. One of the worse lawyers I have ever come across. I called him maybe 150 times & he wouldn’t answer. He didn’t show up on the court date that he was supposed too. He just took the money & did nothing with the case. When I called up to the court my case had not been touched by this so called “lawyer.” He texted me saying he was working out a resolution when he wasn’t. He never called me. I had to show my anger through the text for him to actually call me. He doesn’t care about his clients. He just cares about your money. He will not show up to court for YOU!!!! Don’t waste your time.

At this point there is nothing good I can say about Joey Turner. He’s very disappointing. He tells you what you want to hear and gives you hope only to learn he hasn’t filed the motions he said he did, hasn’t got the discovery, hasn’t even met with the DA about the plea deal. He lies consistently and we have verified this with the courts and another lawyer that we had to look into that cause. He is never available and you have to get aggressive in order for him to answer any calls, emails, or texts (normally takes a few weeks for a response). He has failed us and we will be filing a grievance against him for ineffective council. It seems he has a bad rep with the courts in Effingham and Chatham county as well, when you mention his name there are always murmurs and negative comments made. Save yourself some money, stress, and heartache....DO NOT hire Joey Turner!

Mr. Turner Showed up late to each court date never responses to messages or phone calls took my money and ran got put on probation paid all kinds of fines community service got fired from my job and convicted of my DUI wasted my time and money don't make the same mistake I did

Although Joey's communication may be lacking a bit, his results speak for themselves. Each time I've attended court it always went in my favor. With a previous record, and facing a felony & misdemeanor I ended up with 3 yrs probation. I would recommend him to anyone.

I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but Mr. Joey Turner let us down. Took the money and never even got his client into court, never defended his client which he was paid for and only communicated when he wanted more money. Completely heartbreaking. I trusted him with all the money I had. Please don’t make the same mistake.

Do not, I repeat, do not hire this attorney. I was unfortunate enough to get into some serious legal trouble over a year ago, hired this man and will regret it for the rest of my life. We paid him over 9k in total and received nothing but mediocre legal advice, subpar representation, and a COMPLETE lack of any professional respect for me as a client. He put forth absolutely no effort to help resolve my case in a timely manner, ignored my repeated requests for a bond hearing and in fact urged me to take a plea deal of 90 days in a probation detention camp in addition to pleading guilty to a felony regardless of the facts of the case. He never requested the discovery from the DA and that was after 8 months of these charges pending against me. Had he requested the discovery he would have known the state’s case against me was completely circumstantial and lacking ANY hard evidence whatsoever. After his fee was paid in full he stopped returning any of my calls or emails. Because of J.Turner not doing anything to get my matter taken care of as he said he would,i was away from family(young daughter) for 13 months. I then when released, I have lost everything. My home,car,relationship,in debt and had to completely start over. I have filed complaints with the bar and can only hope my money is returned. It sickens me to see how often this has happened to others. How has his licence to practice law not been taken away??

He is the worst Lawyer I have ever dealt with. I hired him for my nephew after he get paid you never her from him. I have been trying to get in touch with him for 4 months. We feel like we gave our money to him and he was gone. Getting a call back or text message was hard. Felt like our case was not important enough. He is always busy. Told us one thing and did another. Was always told we have to wait on board. Nothing he could do to speed it up. Felt like we helped he get more clients and he just did not have time for us. Boyfriend was told he would be out by FEB. It is now Aug. he is still locked up. We asked to get him moved closer to home if he could not get him out, that never happened either. He is still 4 1/2 hours from home.

I can’t say enough good things about Joey Turner, he was considerate of my situation and really cared about the success my case.
