In 2019 I was arrested for a DUI. I didn’t have much money at the time and because this was my first DUI I didn’t understand how serious it was. So, I decided to get a public defender. BIG MISTAKE. Once I hired Mr. Colarusso my luck changed. Mr. Colarusso is very well-respected at the Courthouse and this alone made me feel very confident. He was on time for every court date. In all, I only had to attend court 3 times after hiring Mr. Colarusso. The first time was to resolve the mess the public defender had gotten me into. The second time was to negotiate the final classes I needed to complete that were appropriate for my charges, and the third time was after a year was given to me to complete these classes. Most importantly he was able to have this DUI off my record! If you have been arrested for a DUI or have ANY criminal charges call him first! While Mr. Colarusso was more than affordable, you cannot put a price on your freedom. I am so grateful for finding him. -MD

Mr. Colarusso was able to competently defend me in a case where I was accused of possessing a narcotic, cocaine. I was stopped on a traffic stop, ask to get out of my vehicle, which was then searched and ramsacked. Officers found a pill, asking me what it was, i said it was my Yohimbine diet supplement from Vitamin Shoppe. They ran a field test and said it was positive for cocaine. I was floored. Mr. Colarusso was able to handle my defense, requested an outside lab test the pill, got the state lab to also test the pill. Long story short, after months of delays, the pill was confirmed to be what I originally said it was by the state labs and by our own tests. During this time Mr.Colarusso believed me the whole way and went to bat for me with the prosecutor. The whole thing was a nightmare but Mr. Colarusso kept me sane. I was concerned about this on my record. It was thrown out thankfully. I would highly recommend him!

Having incurred a DUI charge in Connecticut, Joe expertly led me through the entire process of both State and DMV proceedings. Forging a way through the jungle of legal paperwork and process, while remaining in close touch/making himself available whenever I had questions or progress was made. He was also tremendously well informed on the topic of IDEP programs when it came time to find the right one. His assistance was vital to the final outcome of my case.
