I hired Miss Holmes to assist me with my mother's healthcare and to stop another attorney (Douglas M. Walter) from being appointed as mom's permanent guardian. Miss Holmes told me that if I provided documentation proving that I had made arrangements to move my mother to a nursing home in Columbus, Ohio there wouldn't be a hearing. I did what I was advised to do... and was appalled to learn that my paperwork wasn't sufficient to stop Walter's petition. This disastrous outcome was a direct result of Miss Holmes' neglience and her failure to represent me effectively. Mr. Walter lives in Findlay and mom lives in Columbus now. Mr. Walter has never even met my mother let alone know what's best for her. Consequently, mom's needs aren't being met and her wishes are completely ignored. And I am her only caretaker. NASGA, a public benefit civil rights organization, is trying educate people on how to prevent elder abuse from happening to their loved ones. (www.stopguardianabuse.org/)
