AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Mr. Menear handled my parent's estate and it was the most traumatic experience of my life. He is a misogynist and made many inappropriate comments about what he assumed were my parent's "wishes" based on the wording of their boilerplate will. Double any estimated timelines he gives you when you work with him, and don't expect him to inform you of any delays on his end, provide any explanation for them, or apologize for making you wait on him at all. Our process was delayed 6 months with no accountability from him. Epitomizes what everyone despises about lawyers.

I hired Michael for a child custody case. My experience with him was very bad. Before the trial he discouraged me from attempting to settle, even though I was very interesting in avoiding the court. During the trial, he cared more about how he looked in the court in front of the judge rather than the outcome of the case or defending my case. His preparation for trial lacked. The other lawyer knew facts and details, while Michael did not. His questioning of the other party was very superficial. He failed to bring up important points even though I highlighted them to him during the proceedings. Overall, I had the impression that he was only interested to go through the trial so that can bill many hours.

Mike represented me an a motion to change. He spent a great deal of time reviewing the file and preparing me to testify. He knew the case inside and out. Mike submitted 11 relevant cases to the judge while the otherside submitted 3. He shot down their cases easily. He won my case completely, on every aspect and got me a huge costs award. I would use him again in a heartbeat.

Very well spoken, presented himself very well but legal services provided were well below expectations. Before the trial, I was very tempted to negotiate something outside the court. Putting his financial interests first before the best interest of the client, Mr. Menear discouraged me from even exploring out of court settlement. During the custody trial, Mr. Menear did not know basic facts from the history, and did not put up any serious legal defense. He was more interested in appearing to be very gentle and polite with my ex, rather than arguing my case and exposing some obvious lies. Overall, he was extremely ineffective. As a consequence, I lost custody, got very limited access and had to pay both my expenses, as well as my ex's. Terrible lawyer!!
