People who have rated Patricia Lucas poorly as a lawyer are lashing out their frustrations of litigation on her unjustly and because they fail to take blame for their own actions. Patricia Lucus is an excellent lawyer, she has more knowledge off family law than a vast majority of other lawyers in the Niagara Region. The statements against her are baseless and without merit. If Patricia Lucas was a man, they would be referring to his skills and ability as assertive, knows his stuff, well experienced, and a fighter for what he believes is in each of his client's best interest. This lawyer rating website should be shut down for permitting clients and the public to make untrue, slanderous and libelous statements without any merit. This service is in fact a forum for clients to lash out and defame their lawyers because it is easier to put blame on their lawyer than to take responsibility for their past conduct and behaviour as a wife, husband, father and/or mother.

I believe her intent is to go to court. She doesn’t ‘work’ on a case. She wasn’t interested In hearing the facts. She was very difficult to communicate with. That cost my ex and her in court. I as a lay person went up against her on my own in court. I won my case. And I also won a good amount of money in court costs.

If I could rate 0 I would. She was my lawyer for, what should have been a simple divorce and asset sale. My ex was cooperating but Lucas didn't inform me of several offers to settle that were made by my ex. She advised me to not communicate with my ex about this. She would push court dates and meetings because of her vacations. I ended paying close to 20K for her horrible services. Only hired her based on she was a friend of the family. She should be ashamed at her behaviour, puts her bill ahead of her clients.

This lawyer is a joke, her letters are horrible, she does not notify her clients at all. Waste of money, threatens litigation without following through. She needs to retire!!!

I have been referred to this client but after seeing these reviews it doesn’t give me confidence that she can get what I need in my family law case, are there any more recommendations about her?

Ms. Lucas delayed my proceedings for almost two years. She was hostile and unreasonable. She was unprepared for court dates and did not have a thorough knowledge of the details. Ms. Lucas rarely responded to offers to settle and when a response was received it was limited and not relevant; focused on insignificant details rather than trying to reach a resolution. Created frustration as would take many lengthy vacations during negotiations or right before courts dates. Her MO is to bill her clients to the maximum amount possible with very little in return. At the end, her client ended up with the exact same amount I had offered at the beginning of these discussions, the only difference is her client is on the hook for a bill of roughly $25k in my estimated. Avoid!! There are MUCH better lawyers who are concerned about the case and not the cash!!

She needs to retire.... looks old enough to be 100. She missed a court date and stated she didn't remember the offer to go to trial which costs me much more money. She is stupid and incompetent in my opinion... and very rude and unprofessional.

I was referred to her a number of years ago. she faxed 1 letter to a mortgage company asking for information then sent me a bill for $1800.00 unreal

She recommended to me, to allow her to run my case, which included clearly misrepresenting facts, withholding post secondary details of my children, and focusing on what she claimed I was entitled to. It cost me significantly more then what I ended up with, and a in hindsight I went to court to pay for her to golf in Scotland. And now I'm left with figuring out how I can pay my mortgage, with her billing costs, and court costs. I would not recommend her to anyone.

I received a separation proposal from this lawyer and by the writing I would surmise she is a teenager. The language, structure, tone, and style were befitting that of an aadolescent. I responded to the letter with my position and all the facts, her rebuttal was "no, we disagree with eeverything". Yet she provided no evidence, nor did she offer nnegotiations. I did not respond to that letter, I thought it best to go to court. Just received another letter threatening legal action since I am unwilling to negotiate. My ex lied to the lawyer, she is trying to make this ddivorce her payday and it sounds like she found the perfect lawyer. Two women scorned brewing lies in their cauldron. Can't wait to destroy them both in court!

I had the pleasure of having Mrs Lucas as my attorney. Don't let her small physique fool you, she is a fire cracker and gets the job done. She was able to resolve my matter in two sessions and had all the documents filed and approved by a judge quick and efficiently. Her bills are very detailed and she has an explanation for every charge.

Go to court (because I get payed for it). Fight for every imagagined penny she will tell you your entitled to you. Don't ever think you should ever think of decency, or settlement (no money for her in that scenario). YOU MUST GO TO COURT (so she can make her 10k) Best of luck to anyone that puts this lawyer on retainer. It means at least 30% of potential equalization. How else does she stay in business. But if your ready to just fork out money for rhetoric, then she's definitely your lawyer. $$$Cha$$$$Ching###

Patricia Lucas is one of the most difficult lawyers to deal with. She is notoriously known for being difficult. She does not keep her clients informed at all and dictates their case for them. She causes problems between former spouses that were never there before. She delays court. Takes her time to respond simply to line her pockets. She doesn't care about her clients. All she cares about is how much she can bill them at the end. She also cannot be trusted. She is very sneaky and lies and makes her clients lie.

Ms. Lucas is formidable. She loves to fight, and ultimately that is what she will always reccomend to her clients. Go to court. It has nothing to do with win or lose. Its about how many days of billing she can possibly glean from her clients. And she will always sweeten the supposed pot at the end of her rainbow with, we will file for "costs". I would seriously suggest that you search out her previous clientele. Most will attest to significant cost for a less then return. And the more telling aspect is most will also attest to they didnt get cost. Ms. Lucas's history points towards she is all about her billing and maximizing her charge. If you want to pay for a pretty picture, she will deliver. And her effort towards each client is dependant entirely on "go to court" and your potential value as a long term paying customer. Settle is not in her vocabulary. Neither is reality. If you want to just fight, she's your lawyer

My experience with Ms.Lucas was and remains an exceptional one. She is a brilliant woman who is intimidated by noone. She fights for her clients and more often than none obtains their goals if they are within reason. She is no nonsence and will not just tell you what you want to hear but she will tell you the truth! She's earned her reputation as a "fighter dog" because that's exactly what she does for her clients. Just don't expect it to happen overnight! Her staff are equally as efficient and organized. There are a lot of great lawyers out there but if you're looking for experience, success and knowledge Patricia Lucas is number 1 on the list. She has demonstrated all of that to me as my lawyer. She is one of the best in the business! I personally would not be where I am with my exceptionally difficult case without this brilliant lawyer in my corner.

Patricia Lucas is horrible to work with and causes many delays in court just to line her wallet. I would not recommend this so called lawyer.
