I have met her as a judge, and I consider her unfair. In fact, she never reviews any of the pieces of evidence of the plaintiff beforehand. She still rules in the defendant's favour, when she knew I didn't have a lawyer. She bullied me with the assistant of a lawyer who was her student. Our case supposes to be a corporate judge, and she ruled against me even when she is an experienced family lawyer. Her decision prevented me from going to my kid's school, prevented me from practising my right as citizen going to our place of worship, and the list never ends. I still can't believe what kind of family lawyer she is. This what they call SLAPP. I feel sorry for those who are going to face her as a judge especially if the Bennet Jones Law firm is against them.

Gillian clearly knows her stuff, and has a great reputation. Unfortunately, once you've let her handle your case, you'll seldom hear from her, and she'll seldom actually work on your case. I ended up dealing with the most junior lawyer in the firm, who the opposing counsel played like a fiddle. Once, I went 3 months without talking to Gillian. I'd call and either get no response, or the junior lawyer would call back a couple weeks later. Any time she did handle anything, I would get billed for her time and the junior lawyer's time because she had to be walked through what had happened in her absense. She also has a reputation for tenacity, but again she pays so little attention to your case that the junior guy is the one who deals with everything and he's in a world of pitbull divorce lawyers he ended being a pug. Unless you have a complex case that the firm will make a ton of money on, you can hire Gillian but she won't be your lawyer. I don't recommend her or the firm.
