I needed to prepare to self-rep myself at trial in Queen's Bench. I found great help and support working with Nicholas. Not only he is prepared and competent, but he has a gift to explain things clearly and provide a framework that is complete yet easy to understand. He was also available on short notice and provided huge value and a lot of critical insights and tips that allowed me to feel comfortable with the process. Overall my experience with him was excellent. A shout-out also to his Assistant, supportive, kind, super-efficient and patient with several requests for last minute changes and needs. Overall I highly recommend this lawyer and Resolve Legal Group for your family court file.

I worked with Nicholas Urie on a family law matter and would highly recommend him. He is knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. I felt that he did a great job of balancing being attentive to my concerns but also being cognizant of my budget. He helped me understand what was worth pursuing and what wasn't. I also want to give a shout out to Theresa, his Legal Assistant, who was SO lovely to deal with. She provided excellent customer service - super responsive, patient with my questions and I felt like she really cared about me and my outcome. I have recommended Nicholas and Resolve Legal group already and I wouldn't hesitate to do so in future!

We retained Nicholas Urie at Resolve Legal Group for our real estate purchase. Mr. Urie took the time to explain everything to us and answered all our questions. Mr. Urie and his assistant were very pleasant to deal with and our purchase went very smoothly. At the time of our signing all the documents, everything was explained to us in detail. Our realtor even commented on how Mr. Urie and his Assistant kept him in the loop on closing day. We highly recommend Mr. Urie and his team at Resolve Legal Group.

Good communication. Works hard. Very firm and to the point. Even when the other side tries to drag things on, Nicholas doesn't waste time nor money playing their games.

I feel compelled to warn anyone fortunate enough to come across this site to NOT obtain representation from this lawyer. My experience with Mr. Urie is in-line with those posted here. A lawyer should be looking out for your best interests. They should be knowledgeable and skilled and should be a source of comfort when going through life changing and financially stressful events. Mr. Uries only motivation seems to be money. In fact, often the only way I could illicit a response from him was to reference invoicing or payment. I STRONGLY recommend you find another lawyer! Mr. Urie will not ease your stress he will add to it. He will miss deadlines and fail miserably at protecting your interests. When he does so and admits it, he will blame the client. It disturbs me greatly to see that Merchant Law continues to employ him despite knowing his failings and reputation. Thank God for decent lawyers and they do exist. PLEASE, find another lawyer. Do not trust this man with legal matters.

I was very happy to have the representation of Mr. Urie....as my my ex-husbands attorney. I believe some principles of simple procedure were followed as my lawyer made sure everything was kosher but hallejeulah I could depend on a difficult separation made easier by his inept delivery

I concur with the other reviews about not being prepared for trials as well he is more concerned with his retainer.Your going to loose case so why not just go to mediation. I suppose if you have a parking ticket he may be able to help you out but your going to spend $2000 for his research into the parking ticket and travel to court to file the necessary papers.

He lost every legal matter I had and I am about to loose my house by choosing this lawyer. Very ill prepared for court and communication in virtually nill. You may as well walk into court and just keep saying Yes Yes and Yes and give the plaintiff everything and represent yourself.

Mr.Urie ultimately dropped me as a client stating communication concerns despite repeated attempts by me to communicate with him; he failed t show up for a hearing which cost me 500.00; failed to prepare me for mediation which was cut short by 30 mins because I was misinformed by Merchant Law as to the location; he did not follow through on agreed actions; ignored repeated requests for a planning session; did not inform me of the filing of important documents by the OP when he knew I was in hospital;ignored my a tempts to provide him with important information relevant to understanding the OP; seemed to make a subjective and negative judgement of me based on stereotypes; greatly protracted proceedings; ignored repeated and frantic requests for direction; was totally uninterested in my case. My impression was that money speaks loudly to this infividual; he seems emotionally immature, detached, unsympathetic to Dads/husbands and ignorant of parenting.

Mr Urie has been dishonest, ill-prepared for court, did not read very important and pertinent information to the case; despite of putting it for him in a detailed and clearly written format, did not provide the "Book of Exhibits" to the opposing counsel as per a prior court order; which resulted in the trial Judge refusing to admit any of the husband's evidence, allowed the opposing counsel to highjack the proceedings by limiting the custody evaluator's time to approximately one hour; and shortening the trial from one week to 3 days only, failure to conduct a thorough and aggressive cross- examination of both the Assessor and the ex-wife, being soft with the ex-wife as he did not include many serious details in his cross-examination; and doing nothing about perjuring herself so not to embarrass her, failure to follow my instructions in asking the Judge what I wanted, and collusion; in that he succumbed as early as the beginning of the second day by asking me to lower my expectations.

In the nearly 3 months Nicholas was my lawyer he managed to ; send documents to a non- existent address, forget who I was, start to mistakenly talk to me about some else's file, fail to inform me of important documents, failed to deliver import documents and fail to prepare me or himself for mediation. By the time Merchant Law let me go as a client, for complaining about their lawyer he had still shown me no evidence that he had actually looked at my case. He did however bill me very efficiently
