We contacted Helen to make our first wills and powers of attorney. We had no idea what to expect. Helen put us at ease right away and we felt very comfortable discussing personal family stuff. She asked all the right questions to get us thinking about and finally deciding upon what we wanted to do. Thanks Helen for everything, particularly peace of mind.

Helen helped me with the closing of my house that got messy with the buyers needing extra time, etc. Helen and her team were EXCELLENT! I would recommend them to everyone! Thanks!!!

I have to say my experience was quite the opposite from what some of the reviews indicate. I was referred to Helen Sertic and I have no problem bringing her office my business or referring others. She is professional, prompt and efficient. I never felt rushed and all my questions were answered. I felt she cares about her clients and she has a down to earth manner with a good sense of humour. Her staff is personable and helpful and goes that extra mile. I did not find her services overpriced and I felt she is honest and thorough. I would not hesitate to use her services again.

Did not handle a family will responsibly leading to lots of family conflict. Did not provide knowledge and guidance about will changes to an elderly parent and fell for manipulation tactics by another family member. Was either naive or just rushing through the paperwork with no concern of outcome. Go elsewhere for better service.

She was very intense, defensive and sharp over the phone. She was once was on a list of recommended lawyers however after a 5 minute phone conversation she has since been removed. She likes to play the blame game for missing condition dates, even though she was given the file with lots of time to review.She claimed that it was not clear enough when the deadline was, even though it is stated in the offer, as well as was told in my e-mail to her as a courtesy. She bragged to me that she is a very well known lawyer that has done this thousands of times. You would think she would have excelled at reviewing the file in time given such as success rate that she claims.Too arrogant and intense to deal with, glad it is the last time I will have to.

My original intention of seeking out this website was to praise Ms. Sertic and her staff for their amazing service in regards to a last minute snag that came up during my recent home purchase. However, after reading the previous 2 reviews I feel the need to respond. I was referred to this office several years ago and have used them on numerous occasions. I have always found Ms.Sertic to be professional, thorough, down to earth and polite. She also has a decent sense of humour, which I couldn't see anyone misconstruing as a 'sharp tongue' but I suppose it's a possibility. I agree that the appointments are quick and I appreciate that so much. I feel like Ms Sertic respects that my time is just as valuable as hers. This is not to say she doesn't explain things; she absolutely does and in layman's terms. I have never felt that I have been rushed out of an appt., and I have never had to wait more than 5 mins in the waiting room prior to an appt. My calls have always been returned.

I found Ms. Helen Sertic to be the polar opposite of her personal corporation's lead name. Mr. Michael Hinchey was an amiable professional who earned your respect with his legal expertise and sharp wit. On the other hand, Ms. Helen Sertic has a sharp tongue which I found to be both braggadocious and condescending. Her staff is polite and show genuine interest in their clients.

The best. In my years of buying and selling businesses, creating corporations and dealing with tenants and commercial properties, no lawyer (and I've used many across the country!!) has been as helpful as Helen. She's outstanding.

My husband and I chose this law firm to prepare our wills. Ms Sertic met with us to explain all aspects of legal documentation related to estate planning, as well as powers of attorney and living wills should we become incapacitated. She also did research with the government for an unusual situation we have. We were impressed by her knowledge, her patience with regard to our endless questions and the fact that she took her time with us. The documents were prepared in accordance with our decisions in a reasonable timeframe, and the costs were more than reasonable. I would highly recommend Ms Sertic and her efficient staff.

My wife and I were referred to Helen Sertic by a neighbour and I must say the great service we received was over and above all expectations. I had bought properties previously so I had experience with other law firms. Both Helen and her staff were supportive and the whole process went smoothly. We were very satisfied. After we moved into our new home Helen helped us deal with the issue of a broken fridge, at no extra cost. I highly recommend her.

Upon the recommendation of my real estate agent I hired Hinchey and Sertic to handle my home purchase. As a first-time home buyer I didn't really know what to expect, but I know this firm was horrible. They didn't really make it clear to me what they would be doing, and I had to frequently ask them for status updates. When closing day rolled around and I had to go in to sign the paperwork, Helen rushed me through signing everything without even trying to explain what the documents were or letting me read anything. She also sounded slightly ****. They didn't provide me with a copy of the documentation or a receipt or anything; I had to wait a month before they sent me something in the mail and even then it was only one or two documents. For all I know I could have signed away my firstborn.
