Did not fight for me as his client, told a lot of misguiding information which really hurt my case, when he was suspended by the lawyer board he did not even give me ANY time notice to switch lawyers and just dropped me as a client suddenly which made my case even harder to deal with. I can go on and on about how he was such a bad choice as a lawyer. If you want to waste your lawyer fee and let your opposing party win in the end, you can consider him. So do yourself a favor and do NOT hire him and look for SOMEONE ELSE!

We were assisted by Christopher McKay Law for a real estate transaction. We were pleasantly impressed throughout the entire process. This lawyer is a joke. He thinks everyone understands the law. Instead of explain to you properly he assume that you know everything. If I knew everything I shouldn’t hire him. I didn’t personally go to him. I applied to the legal aid and he contacted me. He wasn’t even reading my email. And he was get mad and upset when you tell him something. Avoid him at all cost. He is not a good lawyer. I was impress about the other lawyer which was saying everything that he’s client was telling him. Even though, I provide all the evidence he was able to speak up. I don’t know why he couldn’t speak up about those issue. well, I didn’t lose anything since I request again the trial. I’m getting another lawyer but please he is not a good lawyer avoid him if you are going to a trial.

Chris has done several legal matters for our family. He has recently done Family Wills, Mortgage matters, as well as legal matters. He has been diligent, communicative, and professional in our dealings with him. He has been fair with his rates and cost of service.

I saw Chris McKay a few years ago about a sensitive and difficult family matter. I was grateful for his professionalism and calming manner. He returned my phone calls and emails very quickly and provided me with fair and sound advice. I would gladly recommend Mr. McKay to anyone who requires assistance in family law.

I've found Chris to be satisfactory and attentive to the needs of my case. I also find two particular parties complaints here as ignorant, childish, and defamatory, especially in this type of forum. Their comments are filled with malice and vexation, rather than addressing these in a proper manner and dealing with matters through the appropriate forum !

Chris McKay has always been a diligent lawyer for both myself and my wife. Not only in family law matters, but also with other legal advice we have needed over the years. He was extremely helpful and respectful during a difficult family matter which he handled with great professionalism. I would recommend Mr. McKay as a family lawyer.

I've had nothing but a good experience with Chris in regards to a stressful divorce. He's down to earth and answers all of my questions clearly .He is prompt to get back to me when needed and I feel that he has looked out for the best interest of my daughter and my self .

Horrible lawyer do not trust him! Reading other complaints is everything he has done to me. He doesn't communicate with his clients never returning calls or emails. I urge people to file complains with the law society about this man he doesn't deserve to practice in family law and ruin people's lives

he is the worst lawyer I've ever had the displeasure to deal with. He is unprepared to go to a hearing lies digs you a bigger hole than the one you are in and then walks away. i reported him to the law society it took several years but he was disbarred. unfortunately only for 4 months do not use this lawyer

This lawyer is terrible! He used our prior friendship to have me believe he was actively pursuing my case. At the beginning when I sought his help, he was excited and happy because we were sure to WIN. I ended up moving to BC with my work and then he just seemed to not care as much. I called him twice each year asking for developments in my case (he never once called me), he always came across impatient and too busy to talk. Despite his nature, I called again and again, eventually stating that I can get another lawyer if he is too busy. He became very angry with my suggestion. After this tantrum, each time I called, he re-assured me that all is well and not to worry. I should have just fired him...he let the case go stale and unknown to me, the defence asked the courts for a dismissal. Dismissal was granted. I have no reasonable explanation as to why he let this happen. DO NOT USE THIS LAWYER!!

Chris Mckay has several hearings coming up because of negligence with clients. He led me to believe that he filed my law suits and notified all involved in the amount of time required. He did none of this and allowed time limits to go by so I am unable to take my case to court,He lied for seven years to me about my legal matters. He lied, to the Alberta law society as well as Alberta Lawyers insurance association, he cost me over one point two million dollars, caused me to lose a baby, and everything I own making me homeless. When I went to confront him he refused to face me. He was fired from Mcgee Richard because of mental health issues he refused to take care of as well as ignoring the alberta law society and for severe negligence towards clients costing them everything they owned. He is in the process of opening a new law firm but he has several hearings to get through as we want him dis barred. I was raped due to his negligence. I don't want this to happen to anyone else.

He has not returned phone calls or emails, did not present work in time to court for my case. He lied.. simple as that ., he said one thing and it was not so. Do not trust him.

Chris has been absolutely amazing. He is fair in how much he charges. He always returns phone calls and emails within 24 hours. He is calm even when I got worked up, and knows the law well. I have had Chris for the past 8 years in a complex international Family Law case. He provided me with what I believe was a rare quality, ethical, and understanding representation given the unusual nature of my case. An ethical and honest lawyer is difficult to find. He has clearly out-classed several other lawyers who were opposing counsel. Has good knowledge and yet is rightfully strict on the principles of law toward your case, ..and most importantly he'has good ethics whether it's located in the Alberta lawyer code of ethics or not ! He does not utilize cruel or negligent tactics to resolve issues or to gain an upper hand at any cost. I would have absolutely no hesitation referring him to someone in a similar situation.
