Christine may know the law but she failed in her ultimate objective of achieving a satisfactory outcome for her client -- much less *any* outcome! My case dragged on as a result of her lack of communication (I can count on one hand the number of times I actually spoke to her in a year); inability to understand my priorities; unprofessionalism in dealing with opposing counsel; and, in some situations (I believe), bad advice. Work quality was poor as she made mistakes and lacked an understanding of facts / details. Moreover, I found her *incredibly* poor on the strategic side -- responses to opposing counsel were robotic and perfunctory without giving any thought to the outcome *I* was trying to achieve. She does not keep her eye on the ball, if she ever had it there at all. Bottom line is she is just not commercial and not a deal-maker.

Christine is an excellent lawyer. I was so glad to have her on my team. She gave me the right advice when I needed it and she was very responsive. I would use her again.

Christine and her team were excellent to work with, they were efficient, detail orientated and patient. They achieved exactly what we set out to accomplish, we had a lot of back and forth with the court and Christine was on top of every communication. She is tenacious and worked hard to make sure everything was done according to each ask from the court. Communication via emails, zoom or phone was excellent, I prefer someone who is detail oriented like myself - the more info the better! Excellent services, thank you.

I have worked with Christine Vanderschoot and her team for the past 2+ years and during the course of that time I have never felt more adequately represented and supported. Christine's knowledge of family law is incredible. Her ability to think and plan steps ahead are astounding; all in the true interest of her client. Further, she is able to execute the goals she and her clients set out for. She really has an incredible process that is based in logic and reality. She has always provided sound advice to me and I know whole-heartedly it has been to the absolute benefit of my family. Without Christine and her team, my family law matter would have been far more challenging to deal with. She has been a reliable, honest, hard-working, capable and complete Lawyer. I would highly recommend Christine to anyone looking for proper legal representation. It was my privilege to work with someone like Christine. There's nobody I've come across in my time, quite like her.

Other poor reviews are spot on. Ms. Vandershoot does not truly understand Family Law. Her attempts at 'winning' include being overly aggressive and trying to push financial hardship on the opposing party such that her client wins by default. Above all, and a warning to all parents out there, she is not child-focused and does not look out for the best interests of the children involved. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

During the process of divorce i have changed many lawyers. But Christine was the best that i was dealing with. She was so knowledgeable, she read the file on details and we could close the case in record time. My case was really hard and sensitive. Would highly recommend her for any kind of family case.

The 2019 reviews below are similar to my own bad experience with this greedy, selfish and sloppy lawyer. Christine has a high cognitive intelligence, but a low emotional intelligence. She can provide competent counsel and is quite a strong writer but what comes across as proactivity at first is really her billing more - e.g. composing excessively long emails and filibustering during phone calls - than is necessary so she can bill more. She baits the hook saying her rate is $300something/hr., but she is effectively ripping-off at $600something/hr. as a ‘make-work’ power biller of every twitch. She extracted lots from me adding limited value beyond stating the obvious and telling me what I already know. The worst part about dealing with Christine and her officious assistant is their attitude that the clients work at their convenience, not the other way around. When she makes a mistake, she gets tricky and gaslights rather than taking responsibility and saying sorry. An awful experience!

Christine has helped me immensely on three separate occasions over the last few years. She has provided clear communication and counsel on very complex legal matters. Christine and her team are quick to respond to any of my questions or concerns. While I understand she has other clients, I always felt like a priority. During an incredibly stressful time in my life, she would patiently articulate the legal process, and helped me understand possible outcomes and options in order for me to make the best decision with the information available. Working with her, I was successful with each of my court cases. While preparing for court is not a pleasant experience for any parent, she made the expectations and preparations clear. I would recommend Christine and her team to others looking for a skilled family lawyer.

Christine is a bundle of knowledge and best humane characteristics possible. She believes that every child deserves the best, despite what the parents might think. She is calm and composed, yet passionate and articulate. She has gotten me out of some tough dilemmas when i though all is doomed. Would definitely recommend Christine to my friends and family if need ever arises.

I agree with the previous review dated 5/21/19 entirely. I would also add that Christine is extremely argumentative and unnecessarily over complicates simple tasks and requests to the point where you no longer want to communicate with her on even the smallest of matters because even when she has misunderstood what is being discussed she is still happy to charge you for the time spent. Even after being given specific instructions she is incapable of executing them and proceeds instead to contradict and argue. Christine wastes a considerable amount of time on long winded and pedantic emails instead of just getting to the point. Obviously this is to her financial benefit and does nothing to benefit her clients. Christine’s communication skills are very poor and often times opposing counsel would have difficulty understanding emails due to her confusing manner of writing. I would most definitely not recommend Christine as a family law practitioner.

Christine Vanderschoot of Kelly Jordan family law is a terrible representative for comprehensive family law counsel. Christine Vanderschoot pretends to be a tough and knowledgeable divorce lawyer, but in reality lacks an understanding of the basics of family law, has little to no practical experience, and is more concerned with billings than the welfare of her clients. Christine Vanderschoot's lack of experience, lack of attention and poor advice actually cost me tens of thousands of dollars $ in what should have been a simple family matter, not to mention her erroneous and outlandish billings. Christine Vanderschoot was poor to communicate with me and opposing counsel, not helpful in resolving the matter at hand, and is an absolute disaster outright. Christine Vanderschoot studied fashion in school and probably should have stuck with that profession.

I went from a lawyer who was so bad he actually got me in trouble with the court, to Christine at Jordan Battista LLP. Since taking over my file, I haven't had to accept any offers to settle, and have wholly won the motion that I have brought. I am a believer in the fairness of the legal system, but I now know having not just a good lawyer, but a good TEAM behind them is also important. Admittedly, I'm paying over twice as much now, but I have sole custody of my little girl and Christine understands my motivations are only to keep her safe. She worked for me over her holidays and while she had a full case load. In emotional circumstances for her clients, she is straight forward, honest (even with things you may not want to hear), thoroughly prepared for court (and shows up early), and will follow clients needs over strategic plays (in my case a time delay would have been advantageous, but when I explained the stress of the case was wearing on our family, she pressed ahead and won).

Christine comes off knowledgeable and intimidating but in reality is just very immature and unprofessional, with a thought process of an angry teenager she does not observe the facts of the case and makes an attempt to resolve the issue. Instead she drags it on and insists to make the case as promiscuous and convraversal as she can to boost up her reputation as a pit bull in the court room. She should stick to fashion.

Christine is an excellent Lawyer, she is very reliable, she stood by me and help me through all my issues. Kelly and Richard are also great lawyers. I recommend them anytime to anyone.
