I worked with her for a family law issue and would NEVER recommend her to anyone. She resolved only one of my 5 or 6 issues, all of which she initially promised me we'd have no problem winning quickly. She missed a court appearance saying it was her "computer calendar's fault" and didn't realize until I called her to ask how it had gone. After having acknowledged the error and going back to court to fix it, she went on to deny that it had ever happened. After many broken promises, she left my case a mess. Highly UNrecommended.

Stephanie was amazing during my high conflict divorce. Despite OC being so difficult she followed my instructions and advised me every step of the way. She even took text messages and calls at the midnight hour. She cares for her clients and gets results.

I truly believe that Ms. McLean wrote some of those positive reviews herself (hence the retracted ones which i think were deleted bc they came from the same ip adress). In my experiences with this woman, she is not a very good lawyer and i would not recommend her. She helped me with a family matter and at first came across as competent, albeit a bit arrogant. The other lawyer kept telling her that she was wrong about something, but she cockily assured me that they didnt know what they were talking about. I had my doubts but I trusted Stephanie. Well, the issue ended up going to court and the judge told stephanie that she WAS totally wrong and they even chastised her for wasting the courts time amd not doing her homework before comong to court. Its one thing to have a different opinion than the other lawyer, bit this was different. I really don't think Stephanie knows what shes doing, but she is too arrogant and combative to acknowledge it. I wouldn't recommend her.

I was in the middle of a high conflict divorce when I found Stephanie. My previous lawyer had kept me in the dark about what was happening on my file, I only heard from him when he sent the bill! Stephanie kept me informed with what was going on and listened to me about the outcomes that I wanted. She ran a full trial for me, negotiated a fair property settlement, and won me primary parenting despite a contested application. Her bill was vey clear and her price was very reasonable. I highly reccomend Stephanie to any one looking for a honest, caring, and effective family lawyer in Calgary.

I used this lawyer once and I really disagree the below. Yes she is not afraid to go to court, but she is not professional and ethic at all. I have a high conflict case. I advised her at beginning. After she took my case she didn't act like my counsel. She adjourned an application but still double booked to appear in the court. Even the judge and court clerk felt very strange about it. I wasted $1800 and got nothing. After she caused to be my counsel she held my fund for near one month but didn't get the court order done. Until now I haven't got the order and have to go back to the same judge again. She refused to refund the remaining retainer until I filed an application to low society. Gosh! This is a lesson to me.

Stephanie is one of those lawyers who knows what they are doing. She takes her time to go through the file in detail before taking any steps. She is not scared to go to court if needed, has a sense of responsibility(which in my experience is not so common among lawyers). She took time in the morning of the hearing to actually sit down and explain the events that I should be expecting in the courtroom. After we were in the court room she kept explaining what was happening in there as well. She is prompt in her actions if there is an emergency( within 24 hours I had my restraining order) and she didn't even mind corresponding with me after hours as she sensed my fear. She is more than reasonably priced and definitely a GREAT lawyer. So far my search for a good lawyer only gave me lawyers who didn't care about my case but just the money. Definitely go for Stephanie if you are tight on budget or had your case misdirected by other lawyers. I'll definitely go back to her in future.

Stephanie is fantastic. She is really easy to get along with. Not all two lawyers are the same and I've been through a few of them. Stephanie is funny and truly cares about you. She also knows how to get results and is definitely NOT shy in a court room. I came to her when my spouse got a protection order kicking me out of the house and she got the order revoked. My divorce is finally on a more stable track thanks to her.

Amazing lawyer! When I called I was upset and confused because my partner locked me out of our home. A friend recommended me to this firm and I'm so glad she did. Ms. McLean made time in her schedule to meet with me right away. She was very caring and empathetic. Within days I was given the option of being able to return to my home with my partner moved out, or I could collect my personal things and be given some money up front by my partner to live on until we had a more permanent solution in place. Stephanie took an intolerable situation and made it better within a very short period of time. We are now working on a more permanent plan, but I at least feel like I can breathe again in the meantime. I'm super impressed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Stephanie or anyone at this firm in the future. Nice, supportive group.
