I had several genuine interactions with Jo-Anne. The bad reviews here are from people who were on the other side of the divorce. Jo-Anne was wonderful. She was upfront about how much things cost, she was careful that you stayed conscious about her on the clock time. A talk therapist is cheaper than a divorce lawyer, and she made sure you had a choice to keep the two positions separate, in order to keep her billable hours low. A previous lawyer had been making mistakes, so looking for a new divorce lawyer, happily Jo-Anne was found. She corrected the mistakes of the previous lawyer, which was monumental. During court time she was respectful, calm, focused and prepared. When leaving the court, and the court house she took charge so that you felt safe while the stbx spouse was around. - Yet did not make it look like obvious. After the divorce was finished, I continued to go to her for non-divorce related legal things. She has my full trust, and respect because she earned it.

Rude, abrupt and very impatient, makes you feel worst than you already do with the tendency to be a bully. Rushing trough appointments she did not seem she's getting what the real issue is, She was quickly building a picture of my situation based on her own perspective. Every time I spoke to her she would cut me half way trough. When I decided to fire her she said I should be seeking help in a mental health institution. Very bitter experience.I paid $6000 to be called mental and for few e-mail exchanged between Jo-Anne's assistant and my ex husband's lawyer. No issues were resolved. Complete waste of time and money

Yes.. forgets your case. makes u feel worse than u do. Does not inform u on stuff then says"Oh"did I not inform You?. I feel the worse lawyer anyone could ever hire.. a full complaint will be submitted to Law Society.. only for the fact I don't want to see anyone else go through this .. I mean are u not going through enough then have a lawyer to make u feel worse! I am sure there are awesome lawyers out there. I have learned a ton and will pass my experience on to others as to them hiring the right lawyer. PS.. my case turned out alright but I was put through stuff I should not have.I agree with the complaint on here as seeing he/she went through the same BS. Please for anyone reading this learn from it and make sure u hire someone who is compassionate !! U are going thru enough already!!

She overbills, doesn't remember your cases, doesn't do what she says, continually forgets, bills for socializing with a lawyer. Bills u when she can not remember anything abt. your case. Misleading, lies, scams u.
