On my way home from NC to CT in June 2013, I was pulled over in Greensboro and charged with 80 in a 60, which comes with a mandatory court appearance. Unable to return to NC to answer to it, I paid The Law Office of Randall Howell a more-than-reasonable flat fee to appear for me and negotiate the charge. I got a letter from them today that they got it reduced to an improper equipment charge (which I'm sure may not be possible in all cases, depending on the circumstances of the offense and the defendant's record). Yes, I will be paying plenty to the court, but to keep my clear driving and criminal record, I'll take it!
