This review is coming a few (10!) years late, but I don’t want to neglect recommending Jag. I had been in collaborative (having engaged a different lawyer), but things were at a standstill. I got out of that, hired Jag to handle my divorce. He is extremely personable, doesn’t try to milk the billable hours, explains things thoroughly and I got a great outcome. If anyone came to me needing the name of a family lawyer, I would give them Jag’s number immediately. His law clerk, Jaime, is also extremely competent and wonderful to deal with.

I have known Jag for more than 16 years. I was referred to Jag and met him through a local law firm near where I resided. Jag handled my first divorce case, then my second, and most recently, an amendment to my previous separation agreement. For every instance, I always felt confident and confidence with the methods and strategies that Jag employed to handle my cases. If there is one thing that stands out about Jag, is his personality. He is a straight shooter, always tells you like it is, but also, possible realistic outcomes. His analysis of situations, keeps you in touch with the process. He is one of the only lawyers I have ever come to know, that works as his profession because he likes to help people first and foremost. Money is secondary. All and all, if one requires a great family lawyer, I highly recommend Jag Bhathal.

Dealing with one of the most trying times in my life I was forced to fire my first lawyer who came highly recommended and found Jag Bathal. He was a blessing and a breath of fresh air. Never too busy to answer questions and the explanations he gave were in simple terms which made it much easier to make decisions. It was certainly pleasure dealing with him. His knowledge and insight on family law was an eye opener and a learning experience. I would say that he is a great lawyer and his mannerisms and respect dealing with his clients, in and out of court, are phenomenal.

I had to fire my two previous lawyers, but since I have been with Jagjit, I have been very satisfied. Jagjit not only showed me all the areas where my previous counsel had dropped the ball, he did an incredible job of cleaning up her mess. Throughout the matter, Jag always remained very respectful of my ordeal, and yet, also kept us both focused and on track to minimize my legal costs. At one point in court, I found that the justice was refusing to see my point. Jag spoke remarkably well making the facts as clear as day and managed to turn her around back into my favour. He is the best lawyer I've ever had.

I recently hired Jag to represent me and take over from a lawyer who put me in such a bad predicament and losing situation with respect to a motion to change for child support. Jag's knowledge of the law and strong business sense got me out of a terrible last minute mess of a case that would have gone to trial unnecessarily. Jag quickly assessed the situation in a matter of 10 minutes,gave me the best counsel and strategy to resolve the problems. No nonsense. He was amazing in court and has excellent negotiation skills. My only regret was not finding Jag earlier, where he would have saved me thousands of dollars and a tremendous amount of stress. Jag is a man of integrity, intelligence and it is with great pleasure to highly recommend him to represent any family law matter. In addition to securing a top lawyer, it was a pleasure to deal with everyone from the firm as well.
