Carey helped me immensely with my recent divorce. She and er assistant Zuzana were amazing to deal with and always keep me up to date with the progress and the overall process. I would highly recommend her.

I was on an emergency to respond back due to time limit on the divorce filed by my ex-spouce. I finally ended with Carey. Initial consult gave an impression of she knows everything and retained her. I didn't get a good advice, service or support from her, rather it was for me to do all the readings, corrections, demands, and her own errors (including my date of birth) to send back all the docs to her for further communicating with the opposite side. She didn't settle anything good for me, rather reading back after coming out of the divorce, I felt like she worked for my ex. Eg. Carey was acting as a postman, for just sending me the ex's lawyer's communication without giving me any advice. She was good in sending the invoice. Wonder how some people get some tags like 'Best Lawyer'. I won't recommend her for anything. Na, never!

Carey is a very knowledgeable lawyer and I would refer her to anyone needing help through a separation. She provided me with all of the information I needed so that I could have a confident conversation with my ex through the separation process. She made the process easy on the legal end, the emotional roller coaster with my ex was the most difficult part. She was always quick to respond and always answered any question I had promptly.

Now that it is over I can attest that divorce can be an awful life experience. Carey was my second lawyer, I truly wish she was my first. She is very knowledgeable, approachable and put me at ease while she guided me through my journey. Saying this she was compassionate when it was required, she was diligent when it was required, she was a bulldog when it was required. Should you ever be going through this process I would very highly recommend you contact Carey and let her put you in a place that you will feel cared for and protected. Can't say enough good things about Carey. I remember when I left with nothing and then got hit with divorce papers just when I was trying to recover. Carey showed me what to zero in on and sometimes leaving small matters alone as it costs more to fight than to give in. She is intelligent, supportative and professional. She tries hard to mediate and encourages resolution where everyone is satisfied.

I hired Carey because my previous counsel did not go to court? (I know, weird). And she took care of everything. I wished I listened to her more when she said don't worry about the lies my now ex-husband was saying in his affidavits, he has to prove them. But I insisted to defend myself (at more cost to me). Then my ex took our divorce to a trial and could not afford to keep Carey as my lawyer. She told me I can do this on my own that the hard part was over (in the sense that the judge has already awarded me primary parent). So I represented myself in a trial and kicked his lawyers ass as his lawyer made some pretty rookie mistakes (which made me feel better lol). In the end, I have and will continue to recommend Carey. She is straight to the point and doesn't waste your time and is very thorough as long as you are up front about everything from the start. Thank you Carey :)

Dealing with the emotional roller coaster of family court is hard enough, but Carey has defiantly eased the process with her intelligence and her and attention to detail. So knows who i am when she answers the phone and gives you the time of day unlike many lawyers in this industry. She lets you know the best option for you and not for her.Her not judgmental straightforward approach is what one needs to navigate through a discouraging system.

Carey was fantastic! She is tenacious and did a great job of standing up for me during a difficult separation. Carey would often discuss my different options and would outline the varying costs. I was always kept in the loop regarding my file. I would highly recommend her.

I retained Carey last year on an emergent basis. She had provided me with an initial consult (which I paid for) and gave me great advice. Needless to say I retained her. At that time things went South in a hurry. Carey could not get up to speed on the file fast enough, and in order to save money I had bound and separated all the documents by date with notes on everything to help her better understand. Carey would call and I would be on the phone for at least an hour arguing with her because she had no idea of the case. I had to send her repeated emails detailing documents that she already had. She infuriated me even more so through a very difficult time. I would not recommend her services, and quite frankly months later I am still trying to contest her bill which was nearly her entire retainer gone in less than a week.
