Look no further than Ms. Stephen for a smart lawyer with integrity who is committed to the excellent representation of her clients. I have referred many friends to Ms. Stephen and the feedback has always been excellent. This lawyer represented my wife. Initially she was ruthless in dealing with the filing. So much so that some of the comments put in the filings were obviously not my wife's comments and were exaggerated to ensure that my wife's initial filings painted as poorly a picture of me as possible. The filings included outright lies. Subsequently my wife and I reconciled, at which time this lawyer`s keen involvement went away. The divorce filings took one day to file and $5,000 in fees. The vacating of the documents took over 3 weeks to file from the first time my wife requested it and during this time she lied about follow up to my wife, even though her own emails did not support what she was telling my wife. She is ruthless when she has a fight to deal with but is vacant otherwise. If you view the ratings from the perspective of fighting for a divorce you can rate her highly. If you view the ratings from integrity and willingness to help a client to possibly reconcile, rate her low.

LS was the lawyer for my ex-spouse. I second the opinion of the other comments here -- I would highly advise getting to case management as quickly as possible. Be sure to take plenty of notes, document everything and be prepared to order court transcripts, as I found that she was creative with facts many, MANY times. My lawyer firmly believed that LS does not actually understand the law, but manages to get by on bullying tactics and her reputation from working with not-for-profits. The good part is that she never actually won anything of significant once we were before a judge. She appears eager to bluff, and came up empty every time she faced a judge that was willing to listen to both sides. I have personally considered filing charges against her for her "creativity" in court and arbitration.

LS was lawyer for abusive spouse, after I fled & he started divorce. He used the system to torment & try to control, then died so it became estate matter. LS’s firm has “creative, tailor-made legal solutions”. LS presents well in court. Unwilling to negotiate in good faith or follow usual protocol, LS prolonged case & escalated costs. Using the system, LS continued bullying +1½ yrs after spouse’s death. A lawyer +20 yrs, she can’t seem to properly draft an agreement. LS made up for lower hrly rate by charging time more than 1x, charged for asst, charged for consulting w/ jr lawyer, charged % of inflated estate value, etc. Their Probate Appl was rejected several times, though they drafted the will. LS would not place house proceeds in interest-bearing trust acct (we lost 15 mos interest). Contrary to web claims, I don’t believe LS worked in best interests of her clients + she was abrasive/disrespectful to my lawyer. If she’s opposing counsel, consider Case Mgmt Judge.
