Dorisa Nachla, a Barrister and Solicitor at Nachla Law Office, in Oakville, ON not only illustrated the breadth of her legal expertise and acumen when she represented me during my marital separation. But she also explained the legal process to me in a manner I could easily understand. This was all the more important, as it was, for me, a difficult and stressful period of my life, during which time, I was completely ignorant of the separation process, itself, not to mention its more subtle ramifications.
Most importantly, she listened; and that allowed her to plan and prepare my case when I wasn't even entirely sure of the specific parameters of what I wanted done. I am a single mom. I could not afford to pay a retainer and did not qualify for legal aid. Nachla Law Office gave me unbundled services. They helped me prepare my Family Court papers and helped me prepare for court. There was always someone in the office to notarize my court papers whenever I needed it. I was able to get great legal advice at a price I could afford. I am so grateful to the lawyers and law clerks at Nachla Law for getting me through my situation. After my Divorce, I used Dorisa Nachla to update my Will and for Real Estate. The flat fees are really reasonable and I am glad I could get all of my legal needs taken care of here. The staff is so supportive and friendly.

I came from Quebec because I was named appointed as an executor. Dorisa Nachla was my loved one's lawyer. The entire staff at Nachla Law was compassionate, kind and helpful. Flat fee for the probate was perfect. The team is very knowledgeable and generous with their knowledge in Wills and Estates, real estate, family law and even taxes. They did everything for me including help with the funeral home and bank and were so supportive. It was so nice to get everything done in 1 place. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I wished that I had proposed a fixed cost for completing my separation paper.
I should have got the red flag when she wasn't able to make my first consultation appointment. I think of it this way, how many of your working hours to a lawyer's one hour rate, make it work for you.

Lawyers are paid for time and that is ok, but if a lawyer has no intent to take on a matter, they should stop advise the potential client and wave the consultation fee or stop billing immediately. This lawyer acted keen, took notes, asked questions and dragged the consultation on for the full allotted time to the second and said sorry , I will not get involved and gave advice that was meaningless and pitiful as a form of her justifying her time . The best thing was, I met a lawyer , proud to say, never asked for a consulting fee, said we as lawyers are here to help, no matter how complex a case is. If a lawyer suggest a consultation fee, not for the clients purpose to decide if they wish to retain a lawyer , but to pay them to decide if they want to be hired, is a joke ,,,......Be careful to lawyers who take this approach as to many good lawyers will sit with you who care.

She ran up a huge bill and gave a lot of very poor advice. Ending up at a trial which I was sure to lose as a result of her lax research on tax laws. The whole premise going forward was only for tax reasons, but by not researching the value disappeared. I was then left in a terrible position of not being able to withdraw. She might be ok with wills and real estate but do not use her for family law.
