A lawyer who works diligently and accurately on your file and has a memory and oversight beyond the best, he sees the important in the issues and cuts the crap. This becomes important as you near the trial. The 3 in communication comes from the fact that he is very focused on the facts and not interested in the emotional baggage of the dispute. At first this seemed harsh but over time i clued in that the emotional counselling really does not have a place in a legal setting/dispute. At the end of the day it is not how you feel what is tired for in a trial. Leaving the emotional upset outside of the litigation enables the client also to focus on the facts rather than stuff that is of no help in the litigation or at trial. If you need emotional support Mr Wells is not your lawyer, if you want a good litigator it is hard to find a better.

Peter was top notch after having one of the worst experiences with another firm (Davidson something). Thanks for your help and the other Peter's help at your firm!

Ive had to deal with three divorce lawyers and Peter was thankfully the last and best. Not only is he up to date with his knowledge, but his level of service was fantastic.

Was really happy with the work Peter did. Happy I was referred to him by a colleague!

Arrogant, argumentative, terrible at communication, double talk, and doesn't listen. Always worried about the retainer first I get the impression he thinks he is so much better than you. I never got the feeling that my file was in good hands and had to go over his head to the firm's managing partner to express my concerns only to be told by Peter if I wasn't happy to take my business elsewhere. He doesn't like to be questioned about his advice. Confrontational in his tone and manner. I won't use him again in the future.

So far, we're loving him. Very helpful, plain spoken and to the point - won't enter into an argument that he isn't confident he can win. And he does know his stuff, and he does win.

I had a terrible experience and would definitely not recommend him to anyone looking for a good family lawyer in Calgary.

He is a lot more interested in your money than your problems. Any actions towards resolving the conflict outside court takes him months, and sometimes he just forget about it. In contrary, he always has time for actions leading to days of court preparation. He spends lots of time on documentation(which you are going to pay for it),sometimes a necessary thing to do but at times just a joke. For example he sent me a letter after meeting him and repeating what I just said and asking if I want him to do anything about it. He almost always communicates through formal letters even for small communications that can be easily done via email. I have worked with other lawyers in the past and no one spent so much time on marginal issues while postponing/forgetting the main ones. Very irresponsible with the retainer is the minimum that I could say; by the way ask him to sign a retainer contract because, despite all his documentation discipline, he prefers not having a retainer agreement in place.
