Had to get my retainer back as I could get a hold of Gregg and I couldn't get him to tell me what he was billing me for.

Gregg Velasquez had poor communication with me and my spouse's attorney. Not only would he not return calls or emails, certified mail came back unclaimed! He does not send invoices either. I'm going to report him to the Disciplinary Board of New Mexico and the BBB. I see a pattern and I hope they deal with this con-man appropiately. The only positive thing I can say is he's somewhat knowledgable about family law, but his lacking work ethic simply overshadows any wit.

I had to finally hire a new attorney after trying for three years to get my case settled. In those three years I personally spoke to Mr. Velasquez five times. He always claimed it was the other party's counsel that caused the delay. He would not return phone calls, or e-mails...even to just say he received them. Not to mention I never once in those three years received an invoice to show my account balance or how my retainer was being spent, then when I told him I was letting him go as counsel. He sends me a "magical" bill that exceeded my retainer, but gave no description or breakdown of labor costs, etc. Had to have the new attorney get my money back and reported him to the State Bar and BBB.

Gregg Velasquez had a terrible record with communication, improper billing procedures(no invoices) and missed critical court deadlines. He accomplished the bare minimum and wasted both time and money. Had to hire another attorney to pick up for Velasquez's shortcomings.
